World Wide South America CW Contest

          The Brazilian magazine ANTENNA-ELETRONICA POPULAR, devoted to
          Amateur Radio ince 1926, the cooperating CW group Pica-Pau Carioca -
          PPC, and other South American CW Groups, invite all amateurs world-
          wide to participate in the WWSA CW Contest.

PURPOSE:  To make as many as possible 2-way CW contacts with stations of all
          countries and continents.

DATE AND PERIOD: Each second full weekend in June, starting Saturday 12h00 UTC,
          ending Sunday 18h00 UTC.

BANDS & MODE: 3.5 - 7 - 14 - 21 - 28 MHz - A1A (CW) only. No cross band
          contacts. No WARC bands.

CALL & EXCHANGE: SA Test - Exchange RST and continent (2 letter: AF, AS, EU,
          NA, OC, SA); if QRP station, add /QRP.

CATEGORIES: 1) Single operator/Single band (SOPSB)
            2) Single operator/Multi band (SOPMB)
            3) Single operator QRP (maximum 10W input)/Multi Band (QRPMB).

PUNCTUATION: A) For SA contestants: QSO with SA station (including own
                country), 2 points; QSO with other continent station, 10
                points.
             B) For DX contestants: QSO with South America station 10 points;
                QSO with non SA station (including own continent and country)
                2 points.

MULTIPLIERS: A) For SA contestants: 2 multiplier points for every different
                prefix worked with other continents stations.
             B) For DX contestants: 2 multiplier points for every different
                prefix worked with SA stations.

BAND SCORING: Band scoring will be the sum of all QSO points multiplied by the
              sum of different multipliers in same band.

FINAL SCORING (for Multiband contestants): The final score will be the sum of
              all valid points in all bands multiplied by the sum of valid
              multipliers in all bands. The Contest Committee may discard points
              & multipliers of claimed QSOs with stations that did not send
              log and whose calls were not mentioned in a reasonable number of
              logs received from other contestants.

LOGS:     A log with separate lists for each worked band (even if not included
          in the category chosen by the contestant) must be sent to:

          It is required that list for each band includes call of each station
          worked, date, time, sent and received exchanges, and a multiplier
          column that shows a multiplier only when it is worked for the first
          time in the band listed. Call, name, postal address, country,
          continent, category chosen by the participant and claimed score per
          valid band must be clearly informed in first sheet of log.

          Logs received after October 30th, or not made in accordance to these
          rules, will be considered check-logs.

AWARDS:   A WWSA Certificate will be granted to the top scorer of every
          category in every continent. Certificates for the top three scorers
          of each category may also be granted, provided that a reasonable
          score is obtained.

FINAL RESULTS: Results of South American participants and participants
          operating in other continents will be considered and stated
          separately.

SPECIAL CALLS: Special prefixes during the WWSA will be used by many stations
          of several countries, particularly those operating in South America.
          They will be very valuable to many coveted awards!
