The Thunderbird Amateur Radio Club (TBARC) is a 503(c)3 non-profit ham radio club in Phoenix, AZ, serving the Northwest area of the valley, but welcome members from all over.
Thunderbird Amateur Radio Club is an ARRL affiliated club.
The Thunderbird Amateur Radio Club is a very active club with activities for every ham or those interested in ham radio.

TBARC has 4 repeaters covering the valley, with a weekly net on the repeater network.
Enjoy monthly presentations related to all aspects of ham radio and radio communications at our monthly meetings. Members enjoy the opportunity to meet other hams to discuss the hobby, ask questions and the opportunity to contribute to the hobby on a local level. Meetings are welcome to everyone interested in the hobby.
The annual hamfest in January organized by the Thunderbird Amateur Radio Club is growing more & more popular every year. Vendors range from companies to club members selling gear. Drawing is also conducted with the opportunity to purchase additional tickets. VE testing & education sessions are offered. Food trucks have served food & drinks in the past.
Thunderbird Amateur Radio Club operates 4 repeaters. The repeaters are all linked. Two are on White Tanks, one on top of Honor Health John C. Lincoln Deer Valley Hospital & Honor Health John C. Lincoln North Mountain Hospital. Thunderbird Amateur Radio Club hosts a weekly net every Tuesday night discussing a variety of topics related to amateur radio and what’s going on in the local ham radio community.
Those who are looking to take a ham radio license exam can do so at our monthly VE exam sessions. Exams are given through Laural VEC system so everything is electronic, new call signs and license upgrades are processed in less then 24 hours and best of all, it’s FREE! VE sessions are also offered at our annual hamfest & Field
Members of the Thunderbird Amateur Radio Club enjoy a wide variety of activities, not only to meet other hams, but also a chance to learn more about the hobby. Activities range from monthly meetings with a lecture to field day, parks on the air (POTA) activations & picnics.
It’s also a chance for those who have an interest in the hobby, but yet have a licence to get exposed to the hobby.
