Geog.zip

Geog is a suite of programs written by Andy Talbot ( G4JNT ), some of which make reference to a database of UK terrain heights, to provide useful information for radio amateurs (and others interested in point-point working, i.e. laser communications?) The suite consists of the following programs:-
 
 

SITECALC Site database, distance, bearings
LOCATION Location system conversions and distance / bearing
PLSITES Plot site database
PATHPLOT Map of paths worked between many sites
WORLD Worldwide Locators and distance / bearing
GTCIRCLE Great Circle world map based on any locator
GRIDS NGR and Locator squares
GETSITE Quick site database access
SPOTHGT Spot height for any given site
TROPPATH Troposcatter loss for two sites
TERRAIN Path profile between two sites
LOCALMAP Local height colour map
3DMAP 3d representation of local heights
SHOWMAP Wide area height colour map
VIEW Visible land from any site
HORVIEW Horizon from any site

The programs were written for a DOS environment, but I have had no problems at all running them in Win95 (OSR2)  or WinNT(ver.4.0). You will need PKUNZIP or WINZIP to open the download file.
