The best from the cheap

my FT100D was bought from HRO and works great. I still can;t believe such a small thing can do so much. After a lot of indecisiveness over whether to buy this or the 706MKIIG from Icom, I finally chose the FT-100D for two reasons:-
Firstly its cheaper than the 706MKIIG at that point in time and
Secondly for a lower price I'm getting more features as in the 961Mhz coverage, something the 706MKIIG hasn't. This covergae thing could be useful when converting from the higher satellite bands on receive.
Anyway ... in a word i'm charmed by this product and why shouldn't I.
Pros: The cheapest cum most versatile ham rig on the planet
Cons: Lousy CAT control software support
Time owned: Over two years - Price: S1100I (inclusive of shipping)
