The Southwest Florida Hamfest is happening this coming weekend, Friday, January 16 and Saturday, January 17, 2015, in Fort Myers.
Sponsored by the Fort Myers Amateur Radio Club, there will be over $1200 in door prizes, with hourly drawings plus a raffle for a great new-in-the-box transceiver. Set up for tailgaters begins at 6:00 a.m. both days and trading opens up at noon on Friday and 8:00 on Saturday until 5 p.m. both days.
The Southwest Florida Hamfest is in a new location, easy to find, just off exit 136 of I-75, at the Gulf Coast Church of Christ, 9550 Six Mile Cypress Parkway, Fort Myers. It’s just two hours from Tampa Bay and two hours from Fort Lauderdale.
The Hamfest offers 50 indoor vendor tables at $15 per table and 100 tailgate spaces at $10. General admission is $7. Food trucks will be on site Saturday. Talk in will be on the 147.345 repeater, PL 136.5. VEC testing will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday and there will be forums all day. Come join the members of the Fort Myers Amateur Radio Club for the club’s newest and greatest hamfest in a new and convenient location!
