K3KY's Short Beverage
pop
- Originally planned as an 80/160 Beverage, this antenna is a terrific performer on 40 and 30 meters
The Beverage Antenna Memorandum
- Memorandum on the Beverage Wave Antenna for Reception of Frequencies in the 550 - 1500 Kilocycle Band", FCC Report 9.2.1, by Benjamin Wolf and Adolph Andersen
Active Loop Converter for LF
- Active Loop Converter for the LF Band
by Lloyd Butler VK5BR originally published in Amateur Radio, July 2000)
Thinking about Ideal Loops
- Loop antennae have been used from ELF to UHF since the beginning of radiocommunications. At low frequencies, the main problem for loop antennae is to have enough sensitivity; the antenna being very small respect to the wavelength the collected energy is also small. To increase the output level the loop may be made resonant, so loosing it%u2019s intrinsic aperiodic characteristics.
The Four Foot Loop Antenna
- AM Four Foot Loop Antenna for VLF
Antennas for HF mobile operation
pop
- The following description should give you guidance on how to build a mobile antenna for HF bands yourself, using a very cheap CB-mobile whip antenna base. Antennas for mobile operation 7Mhz ,10Mhz, 14Mhz, 18Mhz, 21Mhz, 24Mhz,28-430Mhz
An easy loop for VLF
- An easy VLF loop, 200Hz-20kHz reception without transformers by Renato Romero and Marco Bruno
The Folding Loop
- The folding loop antenna for VLF
A Hexbeam in 3 hours
- EI7BA describes a nice selfmade Hexbeam project for a single band version.
Half square antenna
- The elevated half square antenna is a very simple antenna that can be constructed from common materials yet gives significant improvement over a dipole at the same elevation. Ground mounted versions of this antenna are commonly used in amateur radio for 75/80 and 160 meter bands
How create simple dipoles
- How to create a simple but effective half wave dipole, illustrated instrucions on how to build wire antennas
The One Man Tower
- Complete tower system incorporates rotator mount, and lateral support collars. You never have to climb again - and forget the hassle of tilting over to work on large arrays. The "One Man Tower" is the strongest dmall footprint free standing self erecting tower in the world
ARRL/RAC Sections Quiz
- Quiz yourself on your knowledge of ARRL / RAC section abbreviations
VLF-LF And the Loop Aerial
- The article discusses the theory of loop aerials for receiving and how they reduce the level of local noise. A Loop Aerial is described suitable for use on the LF and VLF bands together with a circuit of an interface loop tuner and preamplifier. The discussion extends to the problems of amplifier noise and the advantages of tuning the loop.
200W 136 kHz transmitter
- A transmitter project for the 136 kHz band by IK2PII
CW Command Post
- Replace four separate accessories keyer, keyermemory, audio filter, and audio amplifier-- with one box containing allfour and providing for multiple inputs and outputs. N1FN CW CommandPost
A not very original CW operating accessory "put together" by N1FN
KN4LF Daily LF/MF/HF Radio Propagation Outlook
- A daily LF/MF/HF radio propagation forecast.
KN4LF LF/MF/HF Radio Propagation Theory Notes
- Layman level explanations of "seemingly" mysterious LF MF and HF propagation occurrences.
Sydney Scanner Frequencies
- One of the best compilations of frequencies in Sydney particularly SW. Include Police, other emergency people, Marine, the entire aircraft list for Sydney, RAAF squadron frequencies, UHF CB frequencies as well as a heap of miscellaneous frequencies like security, shoppin malls etc.
Voice of Oromo Liberation (OLF)
- Ethiopia
Radio Xoriyo (ONLF)
- Ethiopia
The mystery of the numbers stations
- In response to a question about Numbers Stations, their origin and
purpose, the following information should be of interest.
Antenna Noise and Signal Cancelling at LF
- By using the signals from two antennas, controlling their relative amplitudes and controlling the phase of one of them, unwanted signal or unwanted noise can be phased out. Circuitry is described which uses the signal from a wire antenna to provide selective cancelling against the signal output from an LF loop antenna.
