Alex UN7PCZ, recently obtained a permission by the Norwegian Polar Institute to operate as 3Y0F from Bouvet Island starting from December 2015 to January 2016 !
He is planning to operate with a team of 12 members for a 2 weeks period and currently is planning the operations.
Bouvet Island , IOTA AN-002 is located between South Africa and Antarctica and it is ranked #3 most wanted by Club Log, but will be probably at #2 during dxpedition, after upcoming Navassa activation
One of the latest operatons from Buvet island, 3Y5X by Club Bouvet in 1989 logged more than 50,000 QSO’s, while 3Y0C in 2001 logged 40,000 contacts
