The RSGB IOTA Contest is a highly popular event designed to promote contacts between stations located on qualifying IOTA island groups and the rest of the world, while also encouraging expeditions to these islands. We participate by making as many contacts as possible with other stations, exchanging basic information to log each contact. The goal is to work as many different IOTA island groups as possible, along with stations from various geographic areas. We operate on 10m, 15m, 20m, 40m, and 80m using CW and SSB modes. The contest runs for a full 24 hours, from 1200 UTC on Saturday to 1200 UTC on Sunday. For those new to contesting, we recommend focusing on making contacts and enjoying the experience; don't get too caught up in the scoring details initially. Always check the official rules for exact categories, exchange format, and scoring specifics.
