Winter Field Day

The Winter Field Day is an annual event held on the last full weekend of January, providing amateur radio operators a chance to practice setting up and operating portable stations in challenging winter conditions. We aim to make as many contacts as possible with other participants worldwide, honing our skills for emergency communication preparedness. Participants engage in making contacts across the HF, VHF, and UHF bands, utilizing voice, CW, and digital modes. The core idea is to simulate disaster scenarios, encouraging us to operate with non-commercial power sources and deploy various antenna setups. It's a fantastic opportunity to test our equipment and ourselves against the elements, improving our overall operational abilities in adverse weather.
