YOTA Youngsters on the Air
Youth-focused amateur radio program connecting young operators worldwide.
Youngsters On The Air, or YOTA, is an IARU program focused on encouraging young operators to get involved in amateur radio. It supports new hams and those under 26 years old, helping them develop their skills, make QSOs, and participate in various amateur radio activities. YOTA aims to ensure the future of ham radio by engaging a new generation of operators in all aspects of the hobby, from antenna projects to contesting and DXing.
The program organizes events, camps, and exchanges where young hams can meet, learn from experienced operators, and operate stations together. These gatherings often include workshops on topics like digital modes, satellite operation, and homebrew equipment. Online resources, including official websites and social media groups, provide information about upcoming YOTA events and connect young operators worldwide, fostering a global community for those new to the bands.
