Skeds chat SQ3SWG
Description
The SQ3SWG Sked Chat provides a platform for radio amateurs to coordinate scheduled contacts, particularly crucial for weak-signal modes on VHF, UHF, and microwave bands. This web-based tool, created by Adam SQ3SWG, facilitates arranging skeds for modes like meteor scatter, tropo, sporadic-E, and EME (moonbounce), where direct CQ calls are often insufficient. It features dedicated band rooms for 50 MHz, 70 MHz, 144 MHz, 432 MHz, 1.2 GHz, 2.3 GHz & up, and 28 MHz & below, allowing users to see who is online with their locator, distance (QRB), and beam heading (QTF).
Users can propose skeds with specified frequency, mode, and UTC time, receiving a countdown and antenna pointing instructions. The platform also integrates propagation alerts, including solar data and Sporadic-E MUF from ionosondes, indicating potential band openings for 6 m, 4 m, or 2 m. DX spots from clusters and users are sorted into band rooms, offering a "Sked" button for online stations. A station map displays users with Maidenhead grid squares and great-circle paths, while verified callsigns through QRZ.com enhance trust among operators.
