Calculate dimension for HB9CV directional antennas

Calculates precise dimensions for **Moxon rectangle** HF antennas, enabling hams to design antennas by inputting desired resonant frequency and wire diameter. This web-based tool, version 0.5, is a PHP front-end developed by W4/VP9KF, based on a public domain BASIC program originally authored by L. B. Cebik, W4RNL. It generates critical measurements for the driven element and reflector, ensuring proper spacing and element lengths for optimal performance. User feedback confirms the calculator's accuracy, with one user reporting resonance within 50 Hz of the design frequency for an 18 MHz antenna, eliminating the need for SWR adjustments. This contrasts with other online tools that resulted in significant frequency discrepancies. The tool's precision facilitates building **directional antennas** for specific bands, contributing to effective DXing and contesting operations.

The collinear antenna, or Marconi-Franklin antenna, is an omnidirectional, high-gain antenna composed of in-phase half-wave dipoles aligned vertically. By using quarter-wave transmission line segments, it maximizes gain at a low horizon angle, outperforming a half-wave dipole. Adding segments increases gain but narrows bandwidth. A popular DIY version, the CoCo antenna, uses half-wave coaxial cable segments connected by non-radiating transmission lines. Built with stable velocity factor cables, a matching quarter-wave sleeve balun, and ferrite rings for attenuation, the antenna achieves performance comparable to commercial models.

Description and online calculator for Log Periodic Dipole Arrays LPDA are directional antennas featuring a relatively constant characteristics across a wide frequency range.

Online antenna calculator for a basic 3 elements yagi uda directional antenna. The described antenna design offers a front-to-back ratio of at least 20 dB, a gain exceeding 7.3 dBi, and a bandwidth (SWR < 2) of approximately 7% around the center frequency. It has an input impedance of 50 ohms when using a straight split dipole, which can be substituted with a folded dipole of the same length, increasing the impedance to 200 ohms. A matching balun is required for coaxial feeder connection, and the boom should be made of a dielectric material, like wood.

This webpage offers an online antenna designer tool to calculate the dimensions for constructing a double bi-quad antenna for various frequencies. The directional antenna is suitable for UHF and higher frequencies, such as WiFi, UMTS, LORA, and mobile phone networks. It provides dimensions based on the input frequency, making it ideal for hams looking to build their own antennas for specific applications. The tool also mentions using common household materials like copper wire for construction, making it accessible for amateur radio operators with basic equipment.

This web page offers an online antenna designer tool for hams to calculate the dimensions needed to construct a J Pole antenna for any desired frequency. The J Pole antenna is a simplified version of the Slim Jim antenna, radiating and receiving signals in an omni-directional pattern. It does not require a ground plane, making it suitable for indoor mounting. With the ability to be made from common household wiring, this antenna performs well for both receiving and transmitting purposes. The calculator is based on radio waves traveling at the speed of light and provides metrics in both imperial and metric units.
