This resource provides a historical listing of **unlicensed amateur radio beacons** active in the United States as of December 1993, specifically detailing both **LOWFER** (Low Frequency Experimental Radio) and **MEDFER** (Medium Frequency Experimental Radio) operations. The data includes beacon frequencies in kilocycles (Kc), identification codes, state locations, and the callsigns or names of the beacon operators. Frequencies range from 166.667 Kc for LOWFER to 1706.0 Kc for MEDFER, illustrating the spectrum utilized by these experimental stations. The information was originally compiled by Mark Burkart and relayed to the rec.radio.shortwave newsgroup by Rick Robinson, KF4AR. The list serves as a snapshot of experimental beacon activity from the early 1990s, offering insight into the types of operations and the individuals involved in unlicensed, low-power transmissions. It highlights specific beacon IDs like "ABC SC" on 510.5 Kc and "GK HI" on 1620 Kc, alongside operator details such as Todd Roberts (WD4NGG) and Herb Vanderbeek (WY6G). While not a current operational guide, it is a valuable historical document for those interested in the evolution of LF/MF experimental radio and the early days of internet-based amateur radio information sharing.

The UK amateur radio licensing scheme features three distinct tiers: Foundation, Intermediate, and Full, each granting specific operating privileges. For instance, the **Foundation Licence** permits a maximum of 10 watts output power on most allocated bands, with restricted band access. The Intermediate Licence allows up to 50 watts, while the **Full Licence** grants access to the maximum UK legal power limits and all available amateur radio band allocations. UK call sign prefixes and formats provide insights into the licensee's class and the approximate issuance date. For example, M3, M6, and M7 prefixes with three letters denote Foundation Licences issued from 2002, 2008, and 2018 respectively. Intermediate Licences, often starting with "2E0" or "2E1" followed by three letters, were issued from 1991 onwards. Full Licences encompass a broader range of prefixes like G2, G3, G4, G0, and M0, with varying letter counts indicating different historical license classes and issuance periods, such as G3 plus three letters issued between 1946 and 1971. Special prefixes like GB are reserved for repeaters, beacons, data mailboxes, and special event stations, with specific numerical sequences (e.g., GB3 for repeaters, GB7 for data repeaters/mailboxes) indicating their function. Optional prefixes such as GC, GD, GI, GM, and GW denote specific UK countries (e.g., Wales, Isle of Man, Northern Ireland, Scotland, England) and can also signify club stations.

Founded in 1946 in the UK, the ISWL is Global. We cater for Licensed Amateurs and all types of Shortwave Listeners. Offer a comprehensive awards programme and run a very efficient QSL Bureau.

The FCC ULS Amateur License Search allow to search for licences based on several criterias, including call, Operator Class, Types, Addresses, Status, and dates.

Over 100 currently valid callsigns for the Bailiwick of Guernsey are listed, encompassing full, intermediate, and foundation licenses, alongside special event and club station calls. The resource clarifies various callsign types, such as 2U0*** for intermediate licensees with a 50-watt limit and GU0*** for full licensees operating up to **400 watts**. This detailed compilation also includes specific QSL routing instructions for visiting operators and past residents, often referencing their home callsigns like _G4DIY_ or _DJ8NK_. The callbook further acknowledges "silent keys," providing a respectful record of former Guernsey amateurs, complete with their callsigns and dates of passing where available. It also lists local repeaters and provides important QSL bureau information, noting that only US dollar bills are accepted for direct QSLs, not English stamps or Euros. For full addresses, the resource directs users to _QRZ.com_, emphasizing that the provided information is offered in good faith.

HAMgpt offers a personalized amateur radio experience, leveraging AI to provide real-time operational guidance. It integrates live propagation data, current band conditions, and operator-specific context, including callsign, QTH, license class, and station equipment, to deliver relevant answers. The system can identify open HF, VHF, and UHF bands, suggest workable DXpeditions and POTA/SOTA activations, and provide accurate repeater offsets and CTCSS/DCS tones for local repeaters. Unlike general-purpose chatbots, HAMgpt avoids fabricating frequencies or license privileges, instead relying on actual data for its responses. It supports antenna design calculations for various types like Yagi, dipole, vertical, and magnetic loop antennas, offering to-scale dimensions. The platform also assists with license exam preparation and provides satellite pass predictions tailored to the user's location. It supports multiple countries, including the United States (FCC Technician, General, Extra), Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, Japan, and Argentina, incorporating their specific band plans and power limits.

EDR-Aalborg was started in 1939 as an association for active radio amateurs. The purpose is to create unity between current amateurs and to give the new ones a good start. The club has radio equipment for HF, VHF and UHF, with all types of modulation. The club's radios can of course only be used by licensed amateurs.
