QRZ.com provides a comprehensive online **callbook** service, enabling amateur radio operators to look up detailed information for over 2 million licensed stations worldwide. Each entry typically includes the licensee's name, address, QSL route, and often a personal biography with station details, antenna configurations, and operating interests. The platform integrates various features such as a **Logbook of the World (LoTW)** interface, allowing users to confirm QSOs directly, and a robust search engine for rapid call sign resolution. The resource also features dynamic content, including real-time solar-terrestrial data from N0NBH, an active online swapmeet for buying and selling amateur radio gear, and a news section with articles covering current events, contest results, and special event station announcements. Recent news items highlight topics like the 'Five Two Simplex Challenge' and the '9th HamSCI Workshop,' indicating a focus on active operating and scientific engagement within the amateur community. Furthermore, QRZ.com supports various amateur radio awards, such as the new 'USA250 Award,' encouraging participation in specific operating programs.

This resource provides a historical listing of **unlicensed amateur radio beacons** active in the United States as of December 1993, specifically detailing both **LOWFER** (Low Frequency Experimental Radio) and **MEDFER** (Medium Frequency Experimental Radio) operations. The data includes beacon frequencies in kilocycles (Kc), identification codes, state locations, and the callsigns or names of the beacon operators. Frequencies range from 166.667 Kc for LOWFER to 1706.0 Kc for MEDFER, illustrating the spectrum utilized by these experimental stations. The information was originally compiled by Mark Burkart and relayed to the rec.radio.shortwave newsgroup by Rick Robinson, KF4AR. The list serves as a snapshot of experimental beacon activity from the early 1990s, offering insight into the types of operations and the individuals involved in unlicensed, low-power transmissions. It highlights specific beacon IDs like "ABC SC" on 510.5 Kc and "GK HI" on 1620 Kc, alongside operator details such as Todd Roberts (WD4NGG) and Herb Vanderbeek (WY6G). While not a current operational guide, it is a valuable historical document for those interested in the evolution of LF/MF experimental radio and the early days of internet-based amateur radio information sharing.

The FreeDV project offers a suite of digital voice modes for HF radio, with its flagship mode being the Radio Autoencoder (RADE). This free GUI application for Windows, Linux, and macOS allows any SSB radio to be used for high-quality digital voice communications. The technology, including the Codec 2 speech codec, is 100% open source under the GNU Lesser Public License v2.1 and two-clause BSD license, fostering experimentation and innovation in amateur radio digital voice. Development is managed by a six-person Project Leadership Team and funded by an ARDC grant, with Software Freedom Conservancy as the financial sponsor. Controlled testing indicates that RADE technology performs comparably to SSB on both high and low SNR channels. The resource lists various FreeDV nets and activities, including a worldwide activity day, and specific nets in Argentina (7.045 MHz LSB), Australia (7.197 MHz LSB), the UK (3.640 MHz LSB, 5.3685 MHz USB), and the USA (7.181.5 MHz LSB, 7.177 MHz LSB). Support resources include a mailing list, Discord channels, and a Zoom channel. Documentation such as the FreeDV GUI User Manual and the SM1000 Manual are provided, alongside access to source code for RADE, FreeDV GUI, and Codec 2.

Presents an interactive **Ham Bands Explorer** web application, offering a live view of all amateur radio bands overlaid on a world map. This resource displays **CQ zones** and **ITU zones**, with geographical data sourced from HB9HIL/hamradio-zones-geojson under an MIT license. The interface provides a dynamic visualization of global band conditions, enabling operators to observe activity patterns across different regions. Users can select individual countries to retrieve and display their specific band plans, with frequency coverage details loaded from CountryData.json. The tool indicates 100% frequency coverage, ensuring comprehensive data presentation for selected regions. This functionality supports detailed analysis of national regulatory variations within the amateur spectrum. The application integrates both a map view and a live view, facilitating real-time monitoring and geographical context for band usage. It serves as a practical reference for understanding international amateur radio regulations and visualizing propagation characteristics across various frequency allocations.

Operating from Banana Island, Sierra Leone (AF-037), the 9L2019 DXpedition by F6KOP and a ten-operator team used the callsign 9LY1JM from January 9-21, 2019. This detailed report covers the logistical challenges, including securing visas and licenses with local assistance from Mark 9L1YXJ and Gregory of Dalton’s Guest House. The team deployed monoband quarter-wave verticals on the beach and two Beverage on Ground (BOG) antennas for Europe/Asia and the USA, operating four stations simultaneously. Technical hurdles encountered included high tides submerging antennas, requiring repositioning, and persistent QRM between closely spaced stations, mitigated by doubling filters. CW signal irregularities at 30-32 WPM were resolved by PC and WINTEST restarts. A significant FT8 logging bug was identified and corrected with on-site software. Despite these issues, the team logged over 4,000 QSOs in the first 24 hours, averaging 5,000 QSOs daily, with a peak of over 6,000 in one day. Propagation varied, with excellent 160m conditions on January 12 yielding over 750 QSOs, and a later four-hour opening pushing the 160m total past 1,600. High bands were challenging due to low solar activity, but mid-bands provided intense pileups and rapid continent-wide contacts. The DXpedition concluded with nearly 50,000 QSOs, including a successful school QSO with Collège Doisneau de Sarralbe (57), managed by F1ULQ and F6KFT.

This project addresses the need for a 50 MHz Amplifier providing substantial power for Australian "Advanced Licensees" permitted to use 400W PEP in the 52-54 MHz band. In regions limited to 100W PEP due to TV channel usage, this initiative aims to enhance power output for transceivers with lower capabilities on the 6m band.
