This resource documents numerous QRP (low power) portable amateur radio operations conducted by W1PID, Jim Cluett, primarily from various outdoor locations in New Hampshire. The content includes detailed accounts, photographs, and operational specifics for over 350 individual "QRP Adventures," often involving hiking, biking, or kayaking to remote sites. Each entry typically highlights the location, date, bands and modes used (frequently CW on HF), and notable DX contacts made with minimal power, sometimes as low as 200mW WSPR. The site serves as a chronicle of practical QRP field operation, demonstrating successful DXing and contesting from challenging environments. It showcases diverse operating scenarios, from mountaintops like Cannon Mountain and Knox Mountain to lakeshores, riverbanks, and even marine mobile operations. The documented contacts span numerous DXCC entities across Europe, Asia, and the Americas, providing empirical evidence of QRP's efficacy in varied propagation conditions and terrains. Specific events like the Worked All Germany contest, 13 Colonies Event, and CWT sprints are also featured.

The Ukrainian Contest Club (UCC) website details contest activities, including a March 2026 contest calendar compiled by _UW3WF_ that excludes specific "exotic" tests, mini-tests, sprints, VHF competitions, and events organized by Russian entities. It lists major contests such as the ARRL International DX Contest, Stew Perry Topband Contest, and CQ WPX SSB Contest, providing dates, times, modes, bands (e.g., **10-160m**), organizers, log submission methods, and deadlines. The resource also highlights Ukrainian participation in various international contests, noting specific callsigns that represented the UCC, and acknowledges new Ukrainian records, such as UW5Y's new record in the ARRL DX CW Contest. The site presents contest results and rankings, including the top 20 Ukrainian contesters in the World Amateur Radio Contesting Association (WARCA) rating for 2019-2024, with _UW1M_ ranked #18 globally and #1 in Ukraine with **26,490.32** points. It also details the club's 12th place finish among 155 clubs worldwide in the CQ WPX Contest 2024 (CW + SSB). The resource includes information on WRTC 2026 participants from the club and lists members excluded due to collaboration with adversarial entities, reflecting the current geopolitical context.

Nuts & Volts, founded in 1980, began as an advertising-based newsprint and evolved into a leading electronics magazine. A major shift came in 1992, introducing content-rich articles, columns, and DIY projects, cementing its role for hobbyists and professionals. Reformatted in 2003 to standard magazine size, it now averages 100 full-color pages on high-quality paper. Celebrating 40 years, Nuts & Volts remains the longest-running U.S. electronics publication, with loyal readers and advertisers since the 1980s. Its diverse topics span robotics, circuit design, automation, microcontrollers, and more, appealing to all skill levels.

The Spartan Sprint Special 40m CW Transceiver, originally documented in 2002 and reproduced in 2019, details a **QRP** direct conversion rig designed for portable operation. This project evolved from an experimental CMOS digital IC receiver, which proved too noisy for weak signals, into a dedicated 40-meter CW transceiver. The author, VE3SMA, aimed for reduced size, lower weight, and decreased receive current drain compared to earlier iterations, drawing on his extensive contesting experience and even his time operating million-watt transmitters at Radio Canada International. This compact transceiver delivers approximately 200 mW output, VFO-tunable over 15 kHz within the 40m band, and weighs a mere 73 grams (0.16 lb) including its balsa wood case. It features fast semi-break-in and sidetone, with a receive current draw of about 14 mA (no signal) and transmit current draw around 125 mA key down. The design incorporates various construction techniques, including knife-cut surface mount boards and through-hole components, often salvaged from junked cordless phones and cellphones. Despite its direct conversion architecture, which offers usable but not superheterodyne-level selectivity, the rig proved effective, achieving a fourth-place finish in a June 2001 Spartan Sprint contest when paired with a 26-foot vertical antenna. The article provides comprehensive circuit details, including an unconventional VFO using a high-speed CMOS inverter chip and a balanced mixer utilizing a 74HC4053.
