Amateur Radio Call Log is a basic ham radio logging app for Android 1.5 and above. It stores Date, Time, Station, Freq, Mode, RST, and additional comments. Also has the ability to easily look-up callsign information from the FCC database.

OPCLOG provides a straightforward logging solution for amateur radio operators, enabling the systematic recording of contacts. The software primarily focuses on basic QSO management, allowing users to input essential contact details such as callsign, date, time, frequency, and mode. Its core utility lies in its ability to export log data in the _ADIF_ (Amateur Data Interchange Format) standard, which is crucial for interoperability with other ham radio applications and services. This ADIF export functionality facilitates the creation of personalized QSL cards, streamlining the process for operators who prefer custom designs over generic templates. The program's design emphasizes ease of use for individual station logging, rather than complex contest or DXpedition management. It offers a practical tool for maintaining a personal logbook, supporting the fundamental requirements for tracking contacts and preparing for awards. The software's simplicity ensures a low learning curve, making it accessible for operators focused on routine logging tasks.

The QRZ.com callsign database serves as a fundamental resource for amateur radio operators worldwide, enabling rapid lookup of station information. Each entry, such as the one for _HB9DSP_, typically includes essential details for making and confirming contacts. Operators can find QSL routes, often indicating preferences like "via bureau or direct," which streamlines the exchange of QSL cards for award credit. Beyond basic contact data, these pages frequently offer insights into an operator's activities, including their participation in contests or DXpeditions. The platform also tracks metrics like "XML Subscriber Lookups," showing how often a callsign's data has been programmatically accessed, totaling **77670** for this specific entry. This functionality is crucial for logging software and other automated systems that rely on accurate, up-to-the-minute amateur radio data. While the page title mentions a "Home made multiband MOXON" antenna, the actual content primarily focuses on the callsign's biographical data within the _QRZ_ database.

Demonstrates the design and functionality of _uLog_, a Windows-based logging application for amateur radio operators. The resource details its core purpose as an easy-to-use logbook, emphasizing its streamlined interface that provides only the basic fields necessary for efficient QSO entry. It positions _uLog_ as a practical alternative to more complex logging software, catering to operators who prefer simplicity and speed in their logging workflow without an abundance of advanced features. The application's utility is highlighted by its focus on fundamental logging tasks, distinguishing it from comprehensive contest loggers or DX cluster clients. While not explicitly comparing it to other specific software, the description implies its niche for everyday logging rather than specialized operating events. Its design philosophy prioritizes quick data input, making it suitable for casual operating or for those who desire a minimalist approach to maintaining their station log.

Explains the annual Jamboree on the Air (JOTA) event, a global amateur radio gathering for Scouts and Guides. This activity connects young people worldwide through ham radio, fostering international friendship and introducing them to radio communication technology. Participants use various amateur radio bands and modes, including HF, VHF, and digital modes like FT8 and JS8Call, to make contacts with other JOTA stations and learn about the hobby. The ARRL provides resources for Scout leaders and amateur radio operators interested in hosting a JOTA station, including guidelines for setting up temporary stations, safety protocols, and educational materials. The event typically occurs on the third full weekend of October, aligning with the World Organization of the Scout Movement's (WOSM) global schedule. JOTA emphasizes hands-on experience with radio equipment, antenna theory, and basic operating procedures. It serves as a significant public service opportunity for hams to engage with youth and promote the educational aspects of amateur radio.

The Narrabeen JOTA and JOTI camp facilitates global communication for Sydney North Region Scouts and Northern Sydney Girl Guides, utilizing amateur radio and internet technologies. Participants engage in two-way radio contacts, often on **HF** bands, to connect with other scouting and guiding groups worldwide, fostering international goodwill and technical skill development. The event integrates both traditional **ham radio** operations and modern internet-based communication methods, providing a diverse experience for youth members. The resource outlines the specific activities undertaken at the Narrabeen site, including station setup, operating procedures, and the use of digital modes for JOTI. It highlights the educational aspects of the event, such as learning about radio propagation, antenna theory, and basic electronics, all within a structured camp environment. The page also provides logistical information relevant to the Australian context of the event.

Operating on the Automatic Packet Reporting System (APRS) network, this platform provides a real-time, visual representation of amateur radio stations globally. Users can track callsigns, locate nearby stations, and even send APRS messages directly from a web browser, all without requiring a login. The system integrates live APRS-IS data, presenting it in an intuitive, map-based interface that supports 11 different languages, making it accessible to a broad international audience. Beyond basic station tracking, the platform offers detailed per-station pages, including historical weather data and telemetry logs. This functionality extends to companion Android and iOS applications, which incorporate an RF / KISS-TNC mode, allowing mobile devices to interface directly with APRS via radio. My own field experience with similar APRS visualization tools confirms the utility of such a resource for situational awareness during events or simply monitoring local and regional ham radio activity. The inclusion of weather and telemetry history adds significant value for those interested in environmental data or remote station performance.
