The QRPSPOTS.com domain, once a dedicated resource for QRP operators to share real-time DX spots, has undergone a significant transformation. Previously, it served the amateur radio community by providing a platform for DX spotting, including features like a telnet cluster, web cluster, JOTA cluster, and integration with RBN and PSK Reporter data. This functionality was specifically tailored to the QRP operating mode, allowing hams running low power to find and share contacts effectively across various bands. However, the current iteration of the website, as observed, no longer presents any amateur radio content. Instead, it displays information related to a Chinese educational institution, featuring sections like "About Us," "Talent Training," "Teaching and Research," and "International Exchange." The site also lists academic notices, enrollment information for international professional qualifications, and details about CPA and ACCA project classes. This shift indicates that the domain has been repurposed, moving away from its original ham radio utility. The Four State QRP Group, which previously sponsored the QRP Spots service, is no longer associated with the content presented on this URL.

This resource, a blog from the Penang Amateur Radio Club (PARC), offers insights into various aspects of amateur radio in Malaysia. One post details monitoring Automatic Terminal Information Service (ATIS) on the 2m band, providing specific frequencies like 122.750 MHz AM for Butterworth and 126.400 MHz AM for Penang, along with sample aviation weather and operational data. Another entry critiques the lengthy and costly process of obtaining an amateur radio license in Malaysia, contrasting it with the more streamlined FCC licensing system in the United States, citing a 1-year wait and RM 414 (USD 125) for 10 years in Malaysia versus 3 weeks and USD 14 for 10 years in the US. The blog also covers internal club matters, such as the 2007 Annual General Meeting (AGM) attendance and council elections, highlighting member dissatisfaction with outdated newsletters and a call for "reformasi." Additionally, it presents local phonetic alphabets in Bahasa Malaysia and Chinese, and discusses monitoring AM broadcast bands for international stations like Voice of America on 1575 kHz and Zhong Yang Ren Min Guang Bo Dian Tai on 1134 kHz, offering alternatives to local 2m repeater chatter. The author, "firstclass," shares personal observations and criticisms regarding the Malaysian ham radio landscape.

The MiniPA Linear Amplifier for HF page discusses the popularity of QRP for HF among ham radio operators, such as those using the Yaesu FT818 or low power SDR transceivers. It explores the use of cheap kits from eBay or Chinese suppliers to build a 70-100W SSB amplifier using IRF530 MOSFET transistors. The article provides a review of the MiniPA design, including its features, components, and assembly process. It also highlights the importance of using a heatsink and forced air cooling for optimal performance. This page is useful for hams looking to enhance their HF rig with a budget-friendly amplifier.

The resource details HF time broadcast stations, categorizing them into "Standard Frequency & Time Signal Broadcast" and "Time Signal Broadcast" types. Standard Frequency & Time Signal Broadcasts, like those on **2.5 MHz** and **5 MHz**, originate from official time observatories and offer continuous standard frequencies, time signals, and often voice announcements, potentially including meteorological data. These stations operate in the SW band. Time Signal Broadcasts also provide continuous time signals, typically with voice announcements, but without the strict observatory origin requirement. The list includes specific frequencies such as 3.33 MHz, 4.996 MHz, 7.85 MHz, 9.996 MHz, 14.67 MHz, 14.996 MHz, 15.006 MHz, and 20 MHz, alongside the primary standard frequencies. Each entry specifies the station's ID time, call sign, geographic coordinates, and operational notes, including languages like _English_, Chinese, Portuguese, Korean, and Spanish. Some entries also indicate decommissioning dates, such as the station on 3.33 MHz scheduled for 2026-06-22.
