Ham Logging: All-in-one Logging App for iOS and Android
All-in-one logging app for iOS and Android with CAT control and extensive integrations
Description
Ham Logging is an amateur radio logging application for iOS and Android platforms. It supports full ADIF field entry, including callsign, grid, mode, submode, TX/RX band and frequency, RST, power, country, and zone data. The application incorporates a historical satellite catalog with over 100 entries, enabling auto-fill of TX/RX band, frequency, and mode for past satellite QSOs. Rover Mode provides a low-distraction interface for mobile operation, featuring hold-to-dictate NATO phonetics and preselected RST values. The system caches QRZ.com enrichment data locally for callsign lookups, providing name, country, grid, and CQ/ITU zone information.
The application supports bidirectional CAT control with transceivers via network connections (Hamlib rigctld, wfview, Icom WLAN, Kenwood KNS, Elecraft K4 Ethernet, serial-over-TCP bridges), Android USB-OTG serial, and Bluetooth (IC-705 BLE, generic BLE-UART, Android Bluetooth SPP). It can also passively follow radio frequency and mode from N1MM Logger+ or WSJT-X via UDP. Rig control compatibility extends to approximately 110 radio models from Icom, Yaesu, Kenwood, Elecraft, Xiegu, QRP Labs, and Expert Electronics SunSDR (TCI/WebSocket), with additional support for FLRig, FlexRadio SmartSDR API, Ten-Tec, and Alinco radios. Ham Logging integrates with 20 logging services for bidirectional synchronization, including LoTW, eQSL, ClubLog, QRZ Logbook, and HRDLog, and provides export-only functionality for POTA, SOTA, WWFF, and contest logs. It supports ADIF 3.1.4 import/export with UTF-8 encoding, CSV, and JSON formats. The application includes an interactive worked-grid map, a live APRS-IS TCP and aprs.fi REST layer for real-time beacon tracking, and a gray-line propagation map with MUF heatmaps and NOAA SWPC aurora overlays.
