SSA Diploms and Awards by SM6DEC

The **Luis Trenker Award** is an amateur radio operating award established by the Amateur Radio Club Ladinia to honor the director and author Luis Trenker from Val Gardena, South Tyrol, Italy. To qualify for the award, HF stations must achieve five confirmed QSOs with each of five specific Alpine countries: Italy (with specific prefixes like I1, IK1, I2, I3, IN3, IW3, IV3), France, Germany (with DOKs A, C, T, U), Switzerland or Liechtenstein, and Austria (with prefixes OE2, OE3, OE6, OE7, OE8, OE9). A single QSO with a member of the Amateur Radio Club Ladinia can substitute for the five required Italian QSOs, with members' QSL cards bearing a special rubber stamp. VHF/UHF stations have a simpler requirement, needing only one confirmed QSO with each of the five Alpine countries. SWL stations are eligible under the same conditions as transmitting stations. All contacts must be valid after April 12, 1990. Applicants must submit a list of contacts, certified by two OMs or a club, to the Amateur Radio Club Ladinia in Ortisei, South Tyrol, Italy. The award manager is IN3PGS Karlheinz, and the club official is IW3AQL Luca.

The software tracks 15 different awards, including DXCC, WAZ, WAS, WPX, IOTA, POTA, and SOTA, calculating progress in real-time and allowing confirmation via LoTW, paper cards, or eQSL. It also features comprehensive statistics, a world map displaying worked locators and cluster spots, and a built-in DX Cluster client that aggregates data from DX Spider/CC Cluster, Reverse Beacon Network, HamAlert, and POTA activations, providing alerts for new DXCC, band, or mode. The application includes a CW keyer/decoder, a contest mode with real-time scoring and Cabrillo export, and robust QSL management for LoTW, QRZ Logbook, eQSL, and Club Log. An optional DecoDXLog Cloud feature enables synchronization of QSOs, station profiles, and settings across multiple devices, ensuring a consistent operating environment. The software is open-source under the GPL-3.0 license, developed by IU8LMC and contributors, and supports lossless ADIF import/export, making it compatible with existing logs. It also integrates with _DecoRotor_ for antenna control, allowing operators to point their antenna directly from the logbook interface.

The Alfa Alfa (AA) DX Group, established on March 1, 1974, in the Netherlands, is presented as the pioneering Dutch 27mc DX group. It details the group's historical significance, particularly its revolutionary use of the '000' club callsign (19AA000) which influenced international 11-meter group callsign structures. The State QSO Party Challenge is an annual program recognizing amateur radio operators' participation in U.S. State and Canadian Province QSO parties. To qualify for the SQP Challenge, participants must make at least two QSOs in a minimum of two SQP Approved QP contests and submit their scores to 3830Scores.com. The site details the SQP Mobile/Portable Challenge, an overlay competition encouraging mobile/portable operations, with scoring identical to the main SQP Challenge: (Number of QPs entered) x (Number of QSOs) = Score. Eligibility for the Mobile/Portable Challenge requires prior qualification for the SQP Challenge. The website also mentions a State QSO Party Club Challenge and provides contact information for questions. The 2026 SQP Challenge will be dedicated to Stan Zawrotny, K4SBZ, a key team member instrumental in the program's development. Participants are recognized for reaching five levels of achievement: Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Diamond. Scores are calculated by totaling reported contacts and multiplying by the number of SQPs entered year-to-date, encouraging more entries and longer operating times. The Worked All QSO Parties (WAQP) program, sponsored by Icom America, offers certificates for participating in at least 50% of approved contests, with a goal of participating in all. WAQP requires submitting a log with at least two valid contacts to the contest manager, in addition to the 3830scores.com submission.
