Grig is a freeware simple Ham Radio control (CAT) program based on the Ham Radio Control Libraries (Hamlib). It is intended to be highly generic presenting the user to the same graphical user interface regardless of which radio is being controlled. Grig supports the most commonly used CAT commands that are implemented by Hamlib, and integrates well with other ham radio programs like Xlog and gMFSK. Grig has been developed on Linux, but has been ported on Mac and Windows OS.

Version 1.4.6 of _AAVoice_ functions as a digital voice processor for amateur radio, designed to operate on Windows platforms from 9x through 10. This software leverages pre-recorded WAV files for transmission, allowing operators to send pre-defined messages or calls efficiently. Its core functionality includes PTT control, which can be managed through a simple circuit connected to a COM port, providing a reliable interface for radio keying. The program offers extensive macro capabilities, streamlining repetitive transmissions during contesting or DXing. It also features direct integration with the _AALog_ logger, enhancing workflow for those using DXsoft's suite of tools, and can interface with other compatible programs via its COM-interface. Author Alexander Anipkin designed _AAVoice_ to require a working sound card, and it comes with a basic set of sound files. Users can easily create additional WAV files using standard Windows sound recording utilities, ensuring flexibility in customizing audio content for various operating scenarios.

VQLog 3.1 - 782 is a shareware logbook program designed for Windows operating systems (95, 98, NT, 2000, ME, XP, Vista, 7, 10, or later), supporting resolutions of 800x600 or higher. It can also operate on macOS and Linux via virtualization software like Virtual PC for MAC, Oracle VirtualBox, or VMware. The software facilitates QSO access by date, callsign, prefix, square, DXCC, and other parameters, offering robust import capabilities for ADIF, Cabrillo, and ASCII files from various contest and logbook programs. Key features include comprehensive award tracking for DXCC, WAZ, WAC, WPX, WAS, IOTA, TPEA, DIE, VUCC, 100EACW, and up to 30 user-defined awards. It generates customizable summaries and graphical statistics for QSO activity, DX contests, Most Wanted Squares (MWS), propagation openings, and prefixes. VQLog supports DX-Spot reception and processing from DX-Cluster and PSK-Reporter with programmable warnings, integrates with callbook services like QRZ.COM and Buckmaster's CD, and offers online lookup. Electronic QSL and log upload support extends to LoTW, eQSL.cc, Clublog, and DXMAPS, with real-time updates for online logs. The program provides extended QSO information for VHF-DXers, including separate TX/RX frequencies, start/end times, propagation modes, and specific entry fields for MS, EME, and Tropo. CAT support for rig control and interfaces with ARSWIN and PstRotator for azimuth/elevation control are also included.

FDLog, a Python-based freeware application, addresses the challenge of synchronized logging for multi-station Field Day operations. It facilitates real-time data sharing across a wireless network, enabling operators to monitor band status and active transmitters at a glance. The software's input system is optimized for minimal keystrokes, streamlining the logging process during intense contest periods. Key features include database synchronization over a wireless network, ensuring all connected computers maintain identical log data. FDLog also incorporates a time synchronization function, designed to keep client programs within a second of a designated master machine, mitigating issues previously encountered with NTP. This internal clock sync can be optionally disabled if not required by the operating setup. Developed initially on Windows 2000, FDLog has demonstrated compatibility with _Linux_ and _macOS_ environments, though some font rendering issues may occur on the latter. The program assists in preparing the ARRL Field Day entry form, simplifying the submission of contest results. User feedback and ARRL rule changes drive ongoing development, with a discussion list available for community support and input.

TNXLOG is a specialized logging application designed to complement the TNXQSO.com online service, focusing on real-time data exchange rather than serving as a standalone general-purpose logbook. The software facilitates the transmission of current **QSOs** to the TNXQSO.com server and simultaneously retrieves relevant geographical data such as RDA, Locator, and RAFA from the same server. It maintains real-time QSO statistics, providing operators with immediate feedback on their activity. Additionally, the application supports working with **CW macros** via a COM port, streamlining Morse code operations during contacts. This utility is specifically tailored for users of the TNXQSO.com service, enhancing their operational experience by automating data synchronization and providing instant access to location-specific information. Its design prioritizes integration with the online platform, making it a companion tool for those engaged in specific award programs or regional operating activities that benefit from real-time data exchange and statistics. The software's functionality is distinct from traditional logbook programs, emphasizing its role in a connected operating environment.

The N7YG Digital Engine, functions as a streamlined digital modem, supporting **PSK**, **RTTY**, and **MFSK** modes. It eliminates many ancillary logging and awards features found in other software, focusing instead on providing a dedicated digital interface. The software is specifically engineered to complement the N3FJP logging suite, offering a simple digital modem with a floating waterfall display that can coexist on the same screen as the logger. The application includes support for PSK Reporter, EXTFSK, TinyFSK, and K1EL Winkey FSK, enhancing its utility for various digital operations. Key features comprise a separate waterfall window, a main GUI with operational controls, receive and transmit display areas, and 10 Macro Buttons across 10 user-definable macro banks, totaling 100 macros for general and contesting use. Configuration options include sound card selection, digital gain (0-32767), AFC Level (0-100), AFC Width (in Hz), and COM Port TX keying for VOX/SignaLink or direct port control. Input and Output Mixer buttons provide direct access to OS audio mixer controls for precise level adjustments. The software is digitally signed with a security certificate, aiming to prevent conflicts with antivirus programs.

Demonstrates _FreeDV RADE_, an open-source digital voice mode for HF, which combines machine learning with classical Digital Signal Processing (DSP) to achieve improved speech quality and spectral efficiency. Released in June 2025 by ARDC grantee FreeDV, RADE operates at Signal-to-Noise Ratios (SNRs) as low as -2 dB and occupies approximately 1.5 kHz of bandwidth, half that of a typical SSB signal, while transmitting about 8 kHz of voice audio. The mode also features an optimized Peak-to-Average Power Ratio (PAPR) for efficient power amplifier use, reducing heat and consumption. Users, such as _VK3TPM_, report significantly improved listening ease compared to analog modes, particularly in high HF noise environments, making it easier to conduct nets across various Australian states. The mode's integration into popular radios like the _FlexRadio 6000_ series allows direct operation without external computers. A C library for RADE is available, facilitating broader integration into other radios and SDR programs, with development continuing on FreeDV RADE v2 to further narrow bandwidth below 1 kHz.
