Explains the annual Jamboree on the Air (JOTA) event, a global amateur radio gathering for Scouts and Guides. This activity connects young people worldwide through ham radio, fostering international friendship and introducing them to radio communication technology. Participants use various amateur radio bands and modes, including HF, VHF, and digital modes like FT8 and JS8Call, to make contacts with other JOTA stations and learn about the hobby. The ARRL provides resources for Scout leaders and amateur radio operators interested in hosting a JOTA station, including guidelines for setting up temporary stations, safety protocols, and educational materials. The event typically occurs on the third full weekend of October, aligning with the World Organization of the Scout Movement's (WOSM) global schedule. JOTA emphasizes hands-on experience with radio equipment, antenna theory, and basic operating procedures. It serves as a significant public service opportunity for hams to engage with youth and promote the educational aspects of amateur radio.

Over 1900 ARISS school events have been conducted since 2000, facilitating amateur radio contacts between students and ISS crew members. This resource details the Amateur Radio on the International Space Station (ARISS) program, outlining scheduled contacts, operational procedures, and application processes for educational institutions worldwide. It lists specific upcoming contacts, such as those with Lewis Center for Educational Research in California and Vauban, Ecole et Lycée français de Luxembourg, typically operating on a 145.800 MHz downlink frequency. The content also provides crucial guidelines for radio amateurs, emphasizing the importance of not interfering with scheduled school contacts and utilizing the crossband repeater for general QSOs when available. It clarifies crew availability for casual contacts, noting that astronauts are usually free during personal time, approximately one hour after waking and one hour before sleeping, and often on weekends. Constraints on scheduling, such as avoiding EVA weeks and specific crew rest periods, are also detailed. Furthermore, the resource includes historical statistics on direct versus telebridge contacts, QSL information, and links to related ARISS, AMSAT, ARRL, and NASA websites. It also provides information on applying to host an ARISS contact for schools and youth organizations in various regions, including the United States, Europe, Africa, the Middle East, Canada, Central and South America, Asia, and Australia.

The Michigan Radio Amateur Youth Network (MRAYN) aims to centralize resources for young operators across Michigan, fostering engagement in amateur radio. This initiative brings together various youth-related clubs and activities, providing a dedicated platform for information exchange and participation. The network supports educational efforts and promotes the hobby among younger generations, ensuring continuity and growth within the amateur radio community. Corey Bulock, KD8BOQ, is listed as a key contact for MRAYN, indicating active leadership in coordinating these youth-centric endeavors. The network's focus includes organizing events and sharing relevant content to keep young hams informed and active. By consolidating information, MRAYN simplifies access to opportunities for youth interested in two-way radio communication, from basic licensing to advanced operating techniques.

The Narrabeen JOTA and JOTI camp facilitates global communication for Sydney North Region Scouts and Northern Sydney Girl Guides, utilizing amateur radio and internet technologies. Participants engage in two-way radio contacts, often on **HF** bands, to connect with other scouting and guiding groups worldwide, fostering international goodwill and technical skill development. The event integrates both traditional **ham radio** operations and modern internet-based communication methods, providing a diverse experience for youth members. The resource outlines the specific activities undertaken at the Narrabeen site, including station setup, operating procedures, and the use of digital modes for JOTI. It highlights the educational aspects of the event, such as learning about radio propagation, antenna theory, and basic electronics, all within a structured camp environment. The page also provides logistical information relevant to the Australian context of the event.

The JUNIOR-2 presented here is a competition direction finder receiver that is easy to build and tune, but has all the features of the "big" receivers. It is especially suitable for beginners, young people or youth groups who have so far refrained from purchasing a 2m direction finder receiver for financial reasons.

The **Radio Scouting** initiative integrates amateur radio with Scouting activities, primarily through the annual Jamboree on the Air (JOTA) event, which engages over 700,000 Scouts globally each third weekend of October. This program introduces Scouts to radio technology and communication, leveraging the K2BSA Amateur Radio Association's resources. It outlines a progression from initial exposure at JOTA to more structured learning, including the Radio Merit Badge, which approximately 7,000 Scouts earn annually. Following the introductory JOTA experience and the Radio Merit Badge, the program encourages further engagement, such as achieving Morse Code proficiency and obtaining an amateur radio license, recognized through specific uniform awards. This structured approach aims to foster sustained interest in amateur radio among youth, providing a clear pathway for skill development and participation in the ham radio community.

The LZ Amateur Radio Club (LZARC) operates with the club callsign **KF0LZ** and utilizes BrandMeister Talkgroup 3205642, YSF Reflector 56420 (US-LZARC), and EchoLink node 536844 for digital voice communications. Jamboree on the Air (JOTA) is an annual Scouting event held on the third full weekend of October, coinciding with Jamboree on the Internet (JOTI). This global event facilitates communication among Scouts worldwide using amateur radio, enabling participants to exchange Scouting experiences and ideas over short-wave signals. It serves as an educational platform for Scouts to learn about wireless radio techniques and basic electronics. Participation necessitates the support of at least one licensed amateur radio operator or a local amateur radio club. National amateur radio organizations can assist in locating local operators. Licensed operators, having passed technical examinations, may host Scouts at their stations, transport equipment to Scout headquarters, or establish temporary stations in various locations. Depending on national regulations, Scouts may speak directly over the air, or special permission might be required, with the licensed operator making contacts on their behalf. Operators are encouraged to familiarize themselves with Scouting principles to facilitate more informative and engaging exchanges.
