Orbitron, a cardware application, provides robust satellite tracking capabilities for radio amateurs and visual observers alike. It leverages NORAD SGP4/SDP4 prediction models to accurately display satellite positions in real-time or simulation, accommodating up to 20,000 objects loaded from _TLE files_. The software includes an advanced search engine for satellite passes and _Iridium flares_, offering printable results for planning observations or QSO attempts. Sebastian Stoff's creation supports various visualization options, including a 'Nightlife' dark color scheme for nocturnal use, and integrates a database of cities and satellite frequencies. Users can synchronize their PC clock via NTP and update TLE data over HTTP, with ZIP support. The application also features rotor and radio control capabilities, either built-in or through user-defined drivers, which is particularly useful for automating antenna pointing during satellite passes. Its interface is designed for ease of use, making satellite tracking accessible even for beginners. First released in 2005, Orbitron 3.71 runs on Windows 9x/Me/2k/XP/2k3/Vista and can operate on Linux via _Wine emulation_, requiring minimal system resources. The software's precision relies on periodic TLE updates, especially for low-Earth orbit objects, to account for orbital decay and maneuvers by satellites like the ISS or Soyuz.

APRSISCE/32 is an Automatic Packet Reporting System (APRS) program, primarily intended for Windows and Windows Mobile (CE), although it will run on Linux and Mac OS under wine. Offer enhanced messaging, announcement support via ANSRVR, and QRU for object query support, can run as a highly configurable Digipeater

Yagi Calculator is a free Windows program that also runs well on Linux, Ubuntu 8.10 under Wine, to produce dimensions for a DL6WU style long Yagi antenna. Long yagis are commonly used from the 144MHz amateur band to the 2.4GHz band.

Deciphering weak or noisy **CW** (Continuous Wave) signals often presents a challenge for amateur radio operators, particularly in contest environments or during DXpeditions. CWLab04X addresses this by providing a software solution that leverages **DSP** (Digital Signal Processing) capabilities of a soundcard to decode Morse code. It functions as both a receiver and a sender, supporting traditional CW and a unique "CCW" mode designed to enhance copyability of signals struggling against high noise floors. The program offers two installation methods: a Windows-specific installer for straightforward setup or a zipped package compatible with Windows and Linux systems running Wine. Users must first download and review the accompanying PDF documentation, CWLab04.pdf and CWLab04_Hardware.pdf, which detail the software's operation and the necessary soundcard interface circuit. The hardware PDF outlines a direct connection from the receiver audio output to the soundcard input, with optional conversion of the soundcard output for hard-keying or microphone input. CWLab04X is intended as an operational aid rather than a replacement for skilled human copy, particularly highlighting the effectiveness of its CCW mode in adverse signal conditions. The software was last revised in April 2009, with installation requiring the LV Runtime 602.

Demonstrates the _SQUIRL Field Day Logger_, a specialized software tool designed for efficient contact logging during the annual ARRL Field Day event. The resource details its core functionality, which includes real-time logging to easily readable text files, with filenames structured by callsign, band, and mode (e.g., K8DAA-20M-SSB.txt). It highlights features such as a real-time history grid of previous contacts, a dynamic USA and Canada map displaying contact locations, and a duplicate checker that provides audio notifications and pre-fills class/section data for previously worked stations. The software also includes an ADIF export function, enabling users to transfer logs to other general-purpose logging programs. The software's design emphasizes simplicity and ease of use, allowing for rapid on-the-spot training, as noted by users like W4CMB. It supports various operating systems, including Windows 98 through 8, and has been successfully run on Linux via _Wine_. Key usability enhancements include a "double-size" feature for improved readability and a "Space Mode" for quick field navigation. The version history indicates continuous development from 2001 to 2013, with significant additions like the real-time Field Day Map in 2003 and ADIF export in 2004, which allows for seamless integration with other logging platforms.

Loki5ace version 5.3.39.1 is a freeware amateur radio logging program designed for Windows operating systems (XP, Vista, 7) and compatible with Linux Wine. The software offers multiple installation methods, including a portable version (loc5portable.zip or Loce5pack.zip) that does not require administrator rights or Windows Registry modifications, making it suitable for USB stick deployment or limited user accounts. An official installation (loc5acest.zip) is also available, typically installing to C:\Program Files\Hamlok\LokiAce\ and requiring administrator privileges for initial setup and updates, with user-specific settings and database files stored in application data folders. The program's database, Loc4ac.mdb, can be renamed to the user's callsign for personalization. Loki5ace supports context-sensitive help, which requires WinHlp32.exe installation on Windows Vista and 7. The software includes features such as special print functions, Telnet Watch with comment display, and an 'Own QTH' field for location management. Updates can be performed via an in-program function or by manually copying the Loki5ace.zip file, which contains the main executable, Loki5ace.exe, to the program folder. The latest version 5.3.39.0 includes repairs for special prints and enhancements to the Telnet Watch feature.

AZIWORLD is a user-friendly tool for generating azimuthal maps of the Earth centered on any location. Compatible with Windows XP and later, it supports English and French. Maps can be saved in .bmp format for easy customization. AZIWORLD computes azimuths, distances, and geographical positions, integrating seamlessly with AZIPOINT for automatic antenna pointing.
