The "Largest YU Moxon" document details the design and construction of a substantial multiband Moxon antenna, primarily for 80m, 40m, and 20m operation. It presents specific design parameters derived from NEC-based simulations, including a 4-element 80m Moxon with 37 dB F/B and 7.81 dBi gain on a 47m boom, a 4-element 40m Moxon with a bidirectional pattern, and a 6-element 20m Moxon optimized for specific side lobes. The resource provides precise element lengths and spacing in meters for each band, alongside measured SWR results across the 3.650-3.800 MHz, 7.000-7.100 MHz, and 14.000-14.350 MHz segments. The construction narrative outlines the challenges and solutions encountered by the YU team, including the use of trees for support, the creation of "ugly" air-choke baluns from RG-58 cable wound on plastic bottles for each band, and the meticulous process of attaching wires to a rope boom. It documents the physical dimensions of the vineyard site (47 x 38m) and the azimuth orientation (340 degrees) chosen for the antenna. The document is distinctively useful for its practical insights into large-scale antenna deployment in a field environment, offering real-world SWR measurements and anecdotal performance reports from CQWW contest operations. It includes numerous photographs illustrating the construction process, the team members, and the finished antenna structure, providing visual context to the technical details.

Presents a construction project for a linear-loaded 40-meter rotatable dipole, detailing the design evolution from mid-element coils to 300-ohm twinlead loading. It covers material selection, including repurposed fishing poles and EMT conduit, and outlines the assembly process for the antenna elements and mounting plate. The resource provides specific measurements for element lengths and linear loading sections, along with SWR plots demonstrating the antenna's resonance at 7.035 MHz with a 1.1:1 SWR, and bandwidth up to 7.120 MHz below 2:1 SWR. The article documents the antenna's performance during various RTTY and CW contests, including the SARTG RTTY and SCC RTTY contests in August 2006, and the ARRL DX CW and CQWW WPX RTTY contests in February 2007. It reports successful operation at 500-1000W, noting improved performance after replacing a faulty coax cable. Specific DX contacts from British Columbia, including stations in Europe and South Africa, are listed, illustrating the antenna's capability despite its shortened length and relatively low height of 55 feet. The content highlights practical considerations such as weatherproofing the connections and supporting the fiberglass elements to prevent sagging. It also includes a brief comparison to an inverted-V at similar height and a ground-mounted vertical, noting the rotatable dipole's quieter reception. The author shares insights into the iterative design process and tuning adjustments made to achieve optimal resonance.

Over 47 full-screen maps are available within _NAOMI_ (North American Overlay Mapper), a free Windows program designed for US and Canadian amateur radio enthusiasts. This mapping suite includes 9 backgrounds such as CQ Zones, ITU Zones, and ARRL Sections, along with 16 foreground layers like Counties, Areacodes, and Grid Locators. Users can calculate distances and bearings, track real-time mouse positions with continuous Grid-Locator data, and integrate with APRS for live station tracking via the FindU database. For a global perspective, the _Global Overlay Mapper_ (GOM) provides a world map, 8 continental maps, and 29 sub-continental maps, all with 12 active layers including Country Outlines, CQ/ITU Zones, and Prefix information. Both NAOMI and GOM offer feature-locate systems to jump to positions based on prefixes, capital cities, or Grid Locators, and provide customized beam headings and distance displays. The site also features _LogView_, a post-contest log visualization tool that analyzes Cabrillo-format logs by plotting QSOs on maps, supporting over 30 major contests like CQWW and ARRL DX, and allowing comparison with published results.

Rules of CQ World Wide RTTY Contest. The CQ World Wide RTTY DX Contest take place last full week-end of September, inviting amateur radio operators globally to connect across various CQ zones and countries. Participants will operate on five designated bands: 3.5, 7, 14, 21, and 28 MHz, exchanging RST reports and zone numbers. Scoring is based on QSO points multiplied by zone, country, and QTH multipliers. The contest encourages innovation in operating strategies while adhering to established rules to ensure fair competition among entrants.

If you find yourself in London then please do visit. The club operates a HF station with the call sign GX0MIN, Friday evenings. We have held the contest call sign M2W since 2000, and regularly participate in HF contests. CQWW SSB is a favourite and the group has operated the October event from Whitton using M2W and from DX locations during the years, with the calls 9H0WW, ZC4DX, C56DX, A45ZN.

Over 70 distinct contest rules are cataloged, including major events like the _ARRL DX Contest_, _CQWW DX Contest_, and numerous state QSO Parties, providing direct access to official guidelines. The resource also compiles contest calendars from sources such as _WA7BNM_, ARRL, and _LA9HW_, offering a centralized hub for upcoming operating activities. Historical contest records are detailed for various events, including _ARRL 10 Meter Records_ for W/VE and DX, _CQWW DX Records_, and _ARRL Sweepstakes_ results by K5KA. This resource compiles claimed scores, often referred to as "rumor scores," for numerous amateur radio contests, providing a historical snapshot of competitive activity from 1993 through 2007. It lists entries for prominent events such as _CQWW CW_, _ARRL Sweepstakes_, _IOTA Contest_, and various _NAQP_ events, categorized by year and contest. Each entry typically includes the contest name and the month/year of operation, allowing users to quickly navigate to specific contest periods. The site also references the _3830 Web Page_ on Contesting.com as the primary submission portal for these claimed scores. The collection offers a unique perspective on contest participation and performance trends over more than a decade, preceding the widespread adoption of real-time score reporting systems. While not official results, these rumor scores provided early indications of top performers and overall activity levels for a wide array of HF and some VHF contests, including _ARRL 10M_ and _CQWW VHF_. The historical data can be useful for analyzing past contest popularity, identifying consistently strong operators, or simply reminiscing about earlier competitive eras in amateur radio.
