Demonstrates a **shunt-feed** matching technique for Hustler mobile HF antennas, specifically the MO-3 mast with RM series resonators, to achieve optimal **SWR** on the 40-meter and 20-meter bands. It details the construction of a loading coil using 20 turns of #12 solid wire, 1.25-inch ID, spread to 5 inches, and provides tap points: 8 turns for 40m and 4 turns for 20m, connecting one end to the feed point and the other to ground. The resource presents specific SWR results, noting a 1:1 match at 7.258 MHz on 40m and 14.275 MHz on 20m, with SWR remaining below 1.5:1 across significant portions of the General phone segments. It highlights a noticeable improvement in both transmit and receive performance compared to a straight antenna setup, emphasizing the practical application of this matching method for mobile installations, particularly on a fender-mounted ball mount.

gMFSK, a Gnome Multimode HF Terminal, provides a comprehensive software solution for digital conversational modes on HF bands within Linux and Unix-like operating systems. The application facilitates sending and receiving various digital modes, including MFSK (MFSK16 and MFSK8), RTTY, THROB (1, 2, and 4 throbs/sec), PSK31 (BPSK and QPSK), PSK63, and MT63. It leverages the computer's soundcard for transceiver interfacing, performing all digital signal processing on the main CPU. The software features a multimode waterfall display incorporating waterfall, spectrum, and scope views, enabling _point-and-click tuning_ of decoded signals. Remote logging capabilities are supported via SysV IPC, with integration for logging applications like Xlog. PTT control is managed through serial or parallel port lines, and rig control is implemented using the _Hamlib_ library, allowing for real-time frequency display and transceiver manipulation. Fixtext macros can incorporate variables and command-line output. Distributed under the GNU General Public Licence, version 2, gMFSK requires Gnome libraries and FFTW 2.x libraries for operation, even without a full Gnome desktop environment. The software's design ensures compatibility with any soundcard supported by the operating system.

Displays amateur radio grid squares worked from third-party logging programs, providing a visual representation of contacts on a world map. This Windows application uses colors to differentiate up to four bands concurrently, calculating the total number of grid squares worked per band. It reads plain-text log files, including fixed-width, character-delimited, ADIF, and Cabrillo formats, dynamically updating the map as log files are saved during contests or general operation. Primarily targeting **VHF** and above operators, WorkedGrids aids in grid square collection for contesting and awards. The software offers a fixed-resolution continental viewpoint, zoom-in capabilities, and supports printing or copying the map to the clipboard. It operates on Windows 95 through Windows 11, requiring minimal CPU and RAM, and features a non-invasive installation. The program has undergone several updates, with version 7 released on March 3, 2024, addressing minor fixes and improving stability.

Mitigating impulse-type noise, a common challenge in the **HF radio spectrum**, often requires specialized processing before the signal reaches the transceiver's receiver stages. The NR-1 addresses this by functioning as an RF interference removal device, specifically a noise blanker, targeting transient noise sources. Its operational range extends from 1.6 MHz to beyond 70 MHz, making it suitable for various amateur radio bands and general shortwave listening applications. Unlike QRM eliminators or X-phasers, the NR-1 does not require a separate noise antenna for its operation, simplifying its integration into existing station setups. The device's design focuses on wideband performance, allowing its use both within and outside the allocated amateur radio frequencies. Documentation detailing its operation is available, providing insights into its technical specifications and deployment. This unit is a hardware product, conceptualized and implemented by SV3ORA.
