Argo, developed by I2PHD and IK2CZL, functions as a specialized freeware viewer for various weak signal modes, specifically MTHELL, Slow CW, QRSS, and DFCW. It processes audio input to visualize and decode these extremely low-speed transmissions, which are often imperceptible to the human ear. The software's capabilities extend to EME (Earth-Moon-Earth) operations, where its sensitivity to weak signals is particularly advantageous for detecting faint lunar reflections. The application provides a visual representation of the received signals, allowing operators to discern patterns and decode information from signals buried deep within the noise floor. Its design focuses on extracting data from signals with very narrow bandwidths and long integration times, characteristic of QRSS and similar modes. This tool is distinctively useful for experimenters and DXers engaged in challenging weak signal communication, offering a dedicated platform for modes not typically supported by general-purpose digital mode software. Its specialized focus on _Slow CW_ and _MTHELL_ makes it a niche but effective utility for specific operating scenarios.

This resource, originally intended to detail the technical specifications of the **Clover** digital communications mode, currently presents a "Page not found" error. The _Clover_ mode was designed for conveying 8-bit digital data over narrow-band high-frequency radio channels, offering robust performance under challenging propagation conditions. Its design focused on efficient data transfer and error correction, making it suitable for amateur radio operators seeking reliable digital links. The absence of the page prevents analysis of specific technical parameters, such as modulation schemes, data rates, or error correction codes that would have been presented. Historically, Clover offered significant advantages in throughput and reliability compared to earlier digital modes over HF, often achieving higher effective data rates than modes like PACTOR or AMTOR under similar signal-to-noise ratios. Without the content, a direct comparison of its performance metrics or practical application scenarios is not possible.

Ham radio communication in the VHF and UHF bands, which was previously dominated by analog Frequency Modulation (FM), is increasingly incorporating Digital Voice (DV) modes. DV transceivers digitize audio and offer benefits like as signal integrity, encoded caller ID, and bandwidth savings. Today D-STAR, DMR and Yaesu System Fusion (YSF) are popular DV formats, each with its own set of features but mainly incompatible with the others. Internet access with Voice Over Internet Protocol (VoIP) expands DV communication worldwide. Repeaters and personal hotspots expand DV capabilities, enabling seamless worldwide connections. However, implementing DV frequently necessitates learning new technologies and negotiating network complexity.

Demonstrates _FreeDV RADE_, an open-source digital voice mode for HF, which combines machine learning with classical Digital Signal Processing (DSP) to achieve improved speech quality and spectral efficiency. Released in June 2025 by ARDC grantee FreeDV, RADE operates at Signal-to-Noise Ratios (SNRs) as low as -2 dB and occupies approximately 1.5 kHz of bandwidth, half that of a typical SSB signal, while transmitting about 8 kHz of voice audio. The mode also features an optimized Peak-to-Average Power Ratio (PAPR) for efficient power amplifier use, reducing heat and consumption. Users, such as _VK3TPM_, report significantly improved listening ease compared to analog modes, particularly in high HF noise environments, making it easier to conduct nets across various Australian states. The mode's integration into popular radios like the _FlexRadio 6000_ series allows direct operation without external computers. A C library for RADE is available, facilitating broader integration into other radios and SDR programs, with development continuing on FreeDV RADE v2 to further narrow bandwidth below 1 kHz.
