SolarHam is a website all about the Sun and how it affects Earth. This site is routinely updated with breaking news, sometimes hours before other Space News websites. You can trust SolarHam.com for the most up to date and accurate solar information on the net. SolarHam is a trusted and easy-to-use website for anyone interested in solar activity and space weather. It gives daily updates on solar flares, sunspots, geomagnetic storms, and radio blackouts. The site uses data from NOAA and NASA to show what is happening on the Sun and how it may affect radio signals on Earth. Charts and images are clear, and reports are updated often. Many amateur radio operators use SolarHam.net to check band conditions and aurora forecasts before operating. The site is fast, well organized, and focused on the needs of the radio community. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced ham, SolarHam.net is a helpful tool for understanding space weather and its impact on radio communications.

This workbook was developed to support training for the Goldstone-Apple Valley Radio Telescope, but is a resource applicable to all radio astronomy.

CLARC was founded in 1987 as an ARRL Special Services Club and is an IRS 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization serving the NASA/Clear Lake area of Houston, Texas.

Over 1900 ARISS school events have been conducted since 2000, facilitating amateur radio contacts between students and ISS crew members. This resource details the Amateur Radio on the International Space Station (ARISS) program, outlining scheduled contacts, operational procedures, and application processes for educational institutions worldwide. It lists specific upcoming contacts, such as those with Lewis Center for Educational Research in California and Vauban, Ecole et Lycée français de Luxembourg, typically operating on a 145.800 MHz downlink frequency. The content also provides crucial guidelines for radio amateurs, emphasizing the importance of not interfering with scheduled school contacts and utilizing the crossband repeater for general QSOs when available. It clarifies crew availability for casual contacts, noting that astronauts are usually free during personal time, approximately one hour after waking and one hour before sleeping, and often on weekends. Constraints on scheduling, such as avoiding EVA weeks and specific crew rest periods, are also detailed. Furthermore, the resource includes historical statistics on direct versus telebridge contacts, QSL information, and links to related ARISS, AMSAT, ARRL, and NASA websites. It also provides information on applying to host an ARISS contact for schools and youth organizations in various regions, including the United States, Europe, Africa, the Middle East, Canada, Central and South America, Asia, and Australia.

The *SPACE* Amateur Radio over Internet Protocol (RoIP) system offers public audio transmissions from NASA Mission Control and astronauts, primarily for educational purposes. This service streams NASA public media sources, including *Artemis II* and the ISS public audio channel 2 feed, which predominantly features English communications. Astronaut activities on the ISS typically occur between 0700 UTC and 19:00 UTC, with transmissions most common during early mornings USA time, alongside special events such as launches or spacewalks. Users can connect to the live stream via EchoLink to the *SPACE* conference, via IRLP to the 0100 experimental reflector, or via Allstar to node 516221. EchoLink connections utilize the GSM CODEC, while IRLP and other connections default to uncompressed or u-law CODEC. The service notes that long periods of silence are common, and NASA audio sources can be periodically unavailable or noisy. Daily recordings of these transmissions are published at space.rfnet.link/recordings/, available as .ogg audio files for direct playback or .m3u8 playlist files for network streaming in applications like VLC. Each playlist file provides a list of timestamped audio transmissions, allowing users to review specific segments of interest.

Have you missed pileups where you can feel really important again? Or perhaps you wanted to win a contest from a place where every QSO counts double points comparing to your home country? Or perhaps you wanted to have a relaxed time with a radio shack in a subtropical place? All the above is available and waiting for you to be explored. Warm weather, blue water sea, a radio shack with good antennas….Is that what every DX-er dream about?
