The _ISS Detector_ Android application, with over 5 million downloads, offers precise predictions for visible passes of the International Space Station. It notifies users minutes before an overhead pass, integrating local weather conditions to ensure optimal viewing opportunities. The core functionality focuses on the ISS, but in-app purchases extend its capabilities to track other celestial and artificial objects. Optional extensions, available via in-app purchase, allow users to monitor dozens of amateur radio and weather satellites, providing real-time transmitter information and Doppler frequencies. Additional extensions cover _Starlink_ satellites, the _Hubble Space Telescope_, rocket stages, bright satellites, comets, and planets, expanding the scope beyond the ISS to a broader range of observable space phenomena. The app's interface is designed for ease of use, displaying pass times, directions, and elevation. It adapts predictions based on the user's GPS location, ensuring accurate local forecasts. The latest update, dated April 3, 2026, includes corrections for magnitude values and various speed and stability optimizations.

With the bluecat interface it is possibile to connect a Yaesu FT 817 857 897 to a computer or a android smartphone without any cable or interface, using a bluetooth wireless connection

CATSync V1.30 integrates OpenWebRX support, expanding its capability to synchronize a local amateur radio transceiver's CAT control with a broader range of public WebSDR receivers. The software facilitates real-time frequency tracking, allowing the operator to adjust their physical rig's VFO and observe the connected WebSDR instantly follow the tuned frequency. This functionality is crucial for remote listening, signal comparison, and verifying propagation conditions across different geographic locations using a familiar hardware interface. The application supports both the classical WebSDR interface and KiwiSDR platforms, providing a consistent control experience across various online SDR deployments. It bridges the gap between local station operation and the vast network of globally distributed software-defined radios, offering a practical tool for DXers and contesters. CATSync is designed for Windows and Linux environments, with Android compatibility noted, making it accessible to a wide user base seeking to leverage WebSDR resources with their existing station setup.

A homemade interface for any android device, allow to receive and trasmitt SSTV PSK RTTY from an android tablet based on the DD7LP original project include demo of a sample DIY kit.

Interface board was for connecting Yaesu FT-817ND transceiver to Android phone or tablet. The board was developed for experimenting with RTTY, SSTV and other digital modes using DroidRTTY, DroidSSTV and other software on an Android phone.

First released in 1988, _SWLog_ is a comprehensive suite of applications providing logging and remote control for both amateur radio and shortwave, utility, and broadcast listening. It integrates program schedules from sources like _HFCC_, _ILGRadio_, and _EiBi_ for broadcast reception, while also linking with amateur radio logbooks such as _ClubLog_, _eQSL_, _QRZ_, and _LoTW_. The software supports radio control for various transceivers, including _Flex_, Icom, Yaesu, and Kenwood, alongside interfaces like _FLRig_, _OmniRig_, and _HamLib_. Mobile applications for Android and iOS facilitate on-the-go logging and remote control, seamlessly transferring logs without manual ADIF export. _SWLog_ leverages an enterprise-grade relational database (SQL Server) for robust data management and analytics, enabling features like mapping QSOs by band or state. It offers specific integrations for _POTA_ monitoring, displaying active spots with real-time propagation and automatic radio tuning. The application's scalability allows multiple users to log to a centralized database, suitable for Field Day or DXpeditions. The user interface features modern aesthetics with light, dark, and gray themes, the latter optimized for outdoor visibility during activities like _POTA_ or _SOTA_. The Plus Edition, available for an annual fee, expands capabilities with advanced QSL integration, additional map providers, and enhanced propagation calculations using _VOACAP_.

Operating on the Automatic Packet Reporting System (APRS) network, this platform provides a real-time, visual representation of amateur radio stations globally. Users can track callsigns, locate nearby stations, and even send APRS messages directly from a web browser, all without requiring a login. The system integrates live APRS-IS data, presenting it in an intuitive, map-based interface that supports 11 different languages, making it accessible to a broad international audience. Beyond basic station tracking, the platform offers detailed per-station pages, including historical weather data and telemetry logs. This functionality extends to companion Android and iOS applications, which incorporate an RF / KISS-TNC mode, allowing mobile devices to interface directly with APRS via radio. My own field experience with similar APRS visualization tools confirms the utility of such a resource for situational awareness during events or simply monitoring local and regional ham radio activity. The inclusion of weather and telemetry history adds significant value for those interested in environmental data or remote station performance.

The LY4A DX Reminder application monitors five distinct DX cluster sources—DXScape, DXSummit, DXHeat, PSK Reporter, and Reverse Beacon—to alert amateur radio operators when a specific call sign appears. It supports a wide range of bands from 160 meters to 70 centimeters, including 60m, 6m, 2m, and 70cm, accommodating **CW**, SSB, FT8, FT4, and RTTY modes. The software operates in the background, checking clusters at user-defined intervals of 1, 5, 10, or 30 minutes, and persists across device restarts. Alarm functionality is robust, activating even if the mobile device is silenced, by utilizing the alarm channel and illuminating the locked screen. On desktop platforms, notifications remain active in the system tray. Users can directly manage alarms—stopping, snoozing, or deleting them—from the notification interface, enhancing operational flexibility during DX pursuits. Available in 15 languages, including English, Italian, German, and Spanish, the application is provided free of charge and without advertisements. It offers optional donation support for continued development. Installation instructions are detailed for Android, Windows 10/11 (64-bit), and macOS 12+, addressing common system security prompts for unsigned applications.
