Demonstrates the construction of a custom programming cable for Yaesu VX-7R and VX-5R handheld transceivers, enabling computer interfacing for memory management and frequency coverage adjustments. The resource details a six-transistor circuit design, powered by the computer's RS232 interface, utilizing readily available and inexpensive discrete components. It includes a complete bill of materials, specifying transistors like the _2N2222_ and _2N3906_, diodes, and resistors, along with a matrix board layout for compact assembly within a 75x50x25mm enclosure. The guide provides practical tips for working with matrix board, such as scoring and snapping, track cleaning, and component soldering order. It outlines the specific connection requirements for both the VX-7R (via Yaesu's CT-91 breakout lead with a 2.5mm stereo jack) and the VX-5R (via CT-44 or a four-section jack), detailing signal and ground pinouts. The author successfully tested three circuits, documenting the one with complete two-way communication, allowing users to program their rigs with software like _VX-7 Commander_ and achieve capabilities beyond commercial cables, including band adjustments.

Enables Android users to operate various _miniVNA_ antenna analyzers via Bluetooth, USB, or Wi-Fi, providing a portable solution for RF measurements. The application supports full control over data acquisition, offering features like custom frequency range selection from 1 KHz to the VNA's full range, and automatic screen adaptation for diverse Android device resolutions. It facilitates intuitive, wizard-based calibration for both reflection and transmission modes, saving calibration data for different VNA types (Standard, Pro, Pro with Extender) to avoid repeated procedures. The software displays critical parameters such as SWR, |Z|, Return Loss, Phase, Rs, and |Xs| on 2-axis graphs or Smith charts, with multi-touch gestures for zoom and frequency shift. It includes a frequency generator mode with independent channels and attenuator control for the miniVNA Pro, along with a sweeper function. The cable data mode automatically calculates phase and loss, measures cable length from less than 1 meter to hundreds of meters, and includes a table of common coax cable velocity factors. An experimental X-tal mode measures resonance frequency, Rs, and Q. Data export options include CSV, ZPLOT, and S1P formats, with CSV import capability. The application also features an SM6ENG Audio mode for SWR tuning without visual reference and provides a miniVNA battery voltage indicator. It supports a wide frequency range, with the miniVNA Extender extending coverage up to **1500 MHz**. The application is compatible with Android version 2.2 and later, tested on devices like the _Galaxy TAB 7.7 P6800_.

Monitoring radio communications through web-accessible Software Defined Radios (SDRs) has become a popular facet of the hobby, and Receiverbook serves as a centralized directory for locating these remote assets. The platform aggregates listings for both **OpenWebRX+** and **KiwiSDR** installations, providing a gateway to a diverse array of frequencies and operating modes. My own experience with similar directories highlights their utility for casual listening, DXing, and even troubleshooting local RFI by comparing signals across different geographic locations. The directory details specific receiver locations, from Bedford, England, to Marahau, New Zealand, and Berlin, Germany. Each entry often specifies the supported frequency ranges, which can span LF, MF, HF, VHF, and UHF bands, including dedicated segments like 80m, 40m, 2m, and 70cm. Many listings explicitly note support for HAM radio, broadcast services, and public two-way radio, making it a versatile tool for various listening interests. Beyond general frequency coverage, some entries provide granular details about the underlying hardware, such as the **SDRPlay RSP1A** or RTL-SDR Blog V3, and even the antenna types employed, like the Sirio Gain-Master. This level of detail is invaluable for serious SWLs and hams looking to understand the capabilities and limitations of a particular remote receiver before tuning in.

The Score Distributor facilitates real-time score forwarding for amateur radio contests, automatically transmitting data from various logging software to multiple online scoreboards. By configuring logging applications to send score data to the Distributor, operators ensure their current score is simultaneously represented on platforms like the _Contest Online ScoreBoard_ (COSB) and the Live Contest Score Server by R4WW. This system eliminates the need to choose a single scoreboard, providing broader visibility for participants. This utility enhances the competitive experience by allowing contesters to monitor their performance against other stations throughout an event. Observing real-time standings can provide significant motivation, particularly during periods of challenging propagation or when striving to maintain pace with club members or peers. The platform supports almost all major contest logging software, simplifying integration for a wide range of operators. Developed by WA7BNM, the Score Distributor was last revised on June 14, 2023. It aggregates score data, offering a unified point of submission that then disseminates the information, ensuring a **single point of entry** for broad scoreboard coverage and improving the dynamic feedback loop for participants.

Delta loop antennas, particularly the 30 meter variant, offer unique advantages in terms of vertical polarization and omni-directional coverage. The construction process detailed by VE3VN highlights common mechanical and electrical challenges faced by amateur radio operators. Key design considerations include minimizing interaction with existing contest band antennas, achieving low elevation angles for DX chasing, and ensuring the antenna remains off the ground for agricultural clearance. The article provides specific measurements, such as the loop's height and feed point impedance, which are critical for optimizing performance. The use of NEC modeling software illustrates the importance of accurate resonance calculations, revealing how proximity to the tower affects both pattern and impedance. This practical account serves as a resource for hams looking to build effective antennas while navigating typical construction hurdles.

Compatible with Windows XP and later (32/64-bit) and multilingual (English, French, German, Italian, Spanish), it integrates seamlessly with TRX-Manager for transceiver control. SAT_EXPLORER computes satellite and Moon positions with high precision, calculates EME Doppler shifts, and uploads real-time satellite positions and coverage maps to your personal web pages. Linux/Ubuntu users can run it using WINE or CROSSOVER.

This study analyzes the antenna pattern of the Utah Amateur Radio Club's 146.760 MHz repeater following antenna relocation in 1997. Noting degraded transmission toward the north, a customized signal mapping system using a Yaesu FT-817, GPS, and software was developed to log real-time signal data. Calibration techniques extended the radio's signal range, enabling precise field measurements. The method allowed continuous signal strength monitoring while driving, revealing anomalies in coverage likely due to tower modifications. Findings helped assess and visualize the antenna’s actual radiation pattern and highlighted environmental impact on signal distribution.
