Version 7.22 of XMLog provides a fix for an issue where the ARRL LoTW application TQSL produced error messages concerning invalid "MY-COUNTRY" values, ensuring smoother integration for award submissions. The software supports flexible log searching, allowing users to select log subsets based on any field, such as RTTY QSOs on 40 meters during a specific month, or entries for a single country with sent but unreceived QSLs. XMLog tracks DXCC, WAZ, WAS, county hunting, IOTA, and grid square awards, managing QSL sent/received status and submission status to award sponsors, with LoTW crediting for DXCC and WAS. It generates detailed reports summarizing QSL status by band and mode, identifying needed countries/states/zones, and listing critical QSOs that could boost award totals. The system also integrates with callbook services like QRZ.com (subscription required) and WM7D.net for lookups, and facilitates QSL and mailing label printing using standard or custom layouts. Further capabilities include ADIF, Excel, and CSV log import/export, a Packet Window for Internet PacketCluster nodes or TNCs with history and scripting, and vocal/CW alerts for needed QSOs based on PacketCluster spots. Rig control is supported for a wide array of Alinco, Elecraft, Flex, Heath, Icom, JRC, Kenwood, TenTec, and Yaesu transceivers, enabling frequency/mode synchronization and control. CW support is provided via a serial port interface compatible with N1MM or K1EL WinKeyer, allowing CW sending from a keyboard or pre-programmed messages.

RXCLUS is a free windows amateur radio software especially designed for the DX'ers and SWL's wanting to receive the informations transmitted by packet radio on the DX-cluster system. It supports also telnet protocol.

A free application that captures DX and WWV spots from up to 5 internet clusters and a local packet cluster. DX Spots are merged and stored in a Spot Database on your PC, enabling you to monitor, sort, and filter them in real time; known LotW participants are highlighted, as are needed stations. WWV spots are plotted to show SFI, A, and K over the last solar revolution.

KaWin is a legacy digital RF data communications program designed to harness the full potential of Kantronics Terminal Node Controllers (TNCs) via their proprietary Host Mode. Serving as a central hub for the digital shack, it gave operators running packet radio or DX clusters a native graphical interface to seamlessly manage RF traffic across up to four simultaneous TNCs. The primary limitation today is extreme software obsolescence. KaWin is a completely unsupported, discontinued product running exclusively on legacy operating systems, peaking at Windows 95. Modern shacks cannot run it natively; it strictly demands antiquated hardware like physical RS-232 serial ports with 16550 UARTs, dedicated IRQ assignments to prevent RX/TX buffer overruns, and specific legacy TNC firmware EPROMs. Despite being a relic, its benefits for the dedicated digital DXer were substantial. By fully exploiting Kantronics Host Mode rather than basic KISS configurations, it maximized on-the-air throughput and station efficiency. For retro-computing hams restoring vintage packet stations, KaWin still provides a robust environment that successfully bridged raw RF data routing with a highly functional, multitasking graphical user interface.

The Ohio/Penn DX Bulletin is freely distributed on the Internet and packet clusters around the world, by Tedd Mirgliotta, KB8NW. Published almost on weehly basis the OPDX is one of the oldest DX news list on the internet.

The Northern Ohio DX Association (NODXA) operates a voice repeater on 147.36 MHz with a +600 kHz shift, utilizing the club callsign W8DXA. The organization provides an award program for contacting its members and offers DXCC and Honor Roll patches to recognize member achievements. NODXA publishes a monthly newsletter containing DX information and meeting minutes, with a recent brochure and membership application dated May 2024. The club actively promotes DXing, allocating a portion of its finances to support DXpeditions, and several members have also financed their own expeditions. The NODXA roster was last updated in June 2015, and a list of supported DXpeditions was revised in June 2024. Tedd Mirgliotta, KB8NW, serves as the club president and is the editor of the OPDX Bulletin, a widely distributed internet and packet cluster resource. Meetings are held on the first Monday of each month at Amici Italian Restaurant & Bar in North Royalton, Ohio, located at 13000 Royalton Road, near the intersection of Route 82 and W.130th Street. The club leadership includes Dennis Stuber, K8LBT, as Vice President; Glenn Williams, AF8C, as Secretary; and Mary Michaelis, N8DMM, as Treasurer.

HB9BZA's LoTW users list, originally compiled since 2005 from DX-Cluster and user submissions, now primarily leverages the official ARRL full users list released on July 29th, 2017. This resource details 228,012 calls across 340 current DXCC entities, with the latest update noted on March 2, 2026. It offers various formats, including a full list, text versions, and breakdowns by country, providing valuable insights into LoTW participation for DXers. While the ARRL's official list with "last upload" dates diminished the original list's unique utility, HB9BZA's site continues to offer statistics and user counts by country, which remain of interest. The author, HB9BZA, expresses gratitude to contributors who helped maintain the list's accuracy over many years, achieving an impressive 96.4% match with the ARRL's data before the official release. Knowing which stations are LoTW active encourages more hams to join the system, demonstrating that even rare DXCC entities like Ducie Island or Heard Island can be confirmed quickly. For instance, HB9BZA recounts a 36-minute QSL confirmation for a 3A2MW contact. The list also integrates with the RXCLUS packet radio/telnet client, enhancing DXCC award tracking by identifying LoTW participants and utilizing upload dates for alarms.

Demonstrates a specialized DX cluster monitoring application, _DxWatcher_, designed for Windows environments. It processes DX spots received via Telnet/Internet, presenting them in a filtered table and a dynamic bandmap. The software integrates with transceivers, specifically the FT-2000, to read VFO frequency and enable one-click tuning to spotted stations. _DxWatcher_ version 1.0.3.0, released on 13 June 2020, includes minor bugfixes and improvements such as enhanced recovery from suspend mode. Key features include configurable bandmap position and size, automatic opening, and bolding of spots received within the last **10 minutes**. The application utilizes the standard _ctry.dat_ file for DXCC country analysis, allowing users to update it for current DXCC status. Source code, developed in C# with MS Visual Studio 2008, is freely available, encouraging modification and sharing while requesting retention of the original author's callsign.

DXSPOTS is a Telnet connection program. It allows radio amateurs with a lot of DX traffic to know instantly the status of the bands and to know which DX are currently on the air. Following the Packet-Clusters where data was transmitted on VHF/UHF via dedicated relays and sometimes on HF at a very low speed (300Bds on HF), the Internet has taken over and is now transmitting DX information via the computers in most shacks.
