The resource lists various FreeDV nets and activities, including a worldwide activity day, and specific nets in Argentina (7.045 MHz LSB), Australia (7.197 MHz LSB), the UK (3.640 MHz LSB, 5.3685 MHz USB), and the USA (7.181.5 MHz LSB, 7.177 MHz LSB). Support resources include a mailing list, Discord channels, and a Zoom channel. Documentation such as the FreeDV GUI User Manual and the SM1000 Manual are provided, alongside access to source code for RADE, FreeDV GUI, and Codec 2.

Operating amateur radio satellites effectively requires precise knowledge of their orbital mechanics and pass times. Gpredict, a real-time satellite tracking and orbit prediction application, addresses this need by allowing operators to monitor numerous satellites simultaneously. It displays critical data such as position and pass details through various visualizations, including lists, tables, maps, and _polar plots_. Unlike many other satellite tracking programs, Gpredict introduces the concept of visualization modules. These modules enable users to group satellites and configure each group independently, offering unparalleled flexibility in how orbital data is presented. This modular approach supports tracking satellites from multiple observer locations concurrently, which is particularly useful for stations with diverse antenna setups or remote operations. Originally a GUI client for John Magliacane's _Predict_ program, Gpredict evolved to integrate its own tracking code for improved performance. The software is distributed under the GNU General Public License, ensuring it remains free and modifiable for the amateur radio community.

The Japan Amateur Radio League (JARL) outlines the application process for foreign amateur radio operators seeking to establish a station in Japan. Required documentation includes a completed JARL-96-04 station information form, a signed JARL-04-09A Letter of Authorization, photocopies of the current amateur radio operator certificate, passport or Residence Card, and proof of bank transfer or PayPal payment. Applications must be submitted at least 60 days prior to the desired operation start date to the JARL International Section in Tokyo. Licensing information specifies eligibility for those with valid amateur qualifications listed in Annex 1, regardless of nationality. A portable/mobile 50W station license is recommended for nationwide operation, costing JPY 2,750. Fixed station licenses for output power exceeding 50W but not more than 200W cost JPY 5,400. Licenses are granted for the authorized stay period, up to five years, and are renewable for JPY 1,700. Operations exceeding 200W require a different procedure involving direct submission to the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) and an on-site inspection. Radios without a 'Technical Standard Certification Number' require assurance by JARD, incurring a JPY 5,500 fee for the first radio and JPY 1,100 for each additional unit. Payment options include bank transfer to MUFG Bank, Ltd., Komagome Branch, or PayPal. The document also details guest operation rules, allowing validly licensed foreign amateurs to operate local stations under specific conditions, including host presence and identification with the host's callsign followed by their own.
