DX-Summit, is one of the very first **DX Clusters** on the internet, operated by the OH9W OH2AQ Radio Club, offering today a full featured web-based DX cluster, with real-time and even historical DX spots across basically the whole spectrum of amateur radio bands. This web application aggregates **DX spots**, enabling hams to monitor DX activity on frequencies from 1.8 MHz through 47 GHz, including specialized categories like beacons, digital modes, IOTA, QRP, and satellite operations. As all DX Clusters, it is as a critical tool for DXers and contesters seeking current propagation conditions and DX stations activity. The web application utility extends to providing daily DX news (even if not up to date) and a spot search function, allowing hams to research previous activity of a specific call signs on several bands. Features integration with direct link to **VOACAP** predictions, QRZ.com and ClubLog. Access to the service during contest events, expecially the most popular ones, may make the sevice overloaded. The inclusion of a full featured tutorial enhances its value. DX Summit's long-standing operation, maintained by **OH8X**, underscores its reliability as a go-to resource for seeking amateur radio spots and identifying rare DX or unidentified signals.

Constructing a 2.4 GHz high-gain _cantenna_ for wireless networks is detailed, providing a practical approach to extending WiFi range. The author, WB8ERJ, shares insights into building these devices, noting their application in amateur radio for projects like Hinternet or HSMM (High-Speed Multimedia) networks. The article outlines the necessary components and steps, emphasizing the DIY aspect for hams interested in digital modes and local area networking. The resource explains how to determine the correct probe placement within the can, a critical dimension for optimal performance at 2.4 GHz. It references specific measurements, such as the 1.25-inch distance from the can's bottom, derived from calculations for the 2.4 GHz band. This precision ensures the antenna functions effectively for its intended purpose of signal amplification. Readers gain actionable knowledge for fabricating a functional antenna from common materials, suitable for experimentation or practical deployment in a ham shack or field environment. The focus remains on the hands-on construction and the measurable results of improved signal strength.

Operating a handheld transceiver (HT) while bicycle mobile presents a significant challenge due to the lack of an effective ground plane on a bicycle frame. This project addresses that issue by providing construction details for a 2-meter antenna, specifically adapting the _ARRL Hints and Kinks_ design by Charlie Lofgren, W6JJZ, known as the "Bike 'n Hike Special." The antenna is designed to function efficiently on the 144 MHz band, offering a practical solution for portable VHF communication. The design emphasizes simplicity and portability, crucial for mobile operations where space and weight are at a premium. It details the necessary components and assembly steps, allowing amateurs to build a functional antenna that overcomes the inherent limitations of a bicycle as a radio platform. The original concept was published in the ARRL's well-regarded collection of practical amateur radio solutions. This antenna project enables bicycle mobile operators to achieve improved signal performance compared to a stock HT rubber duck, facilitating more reliable contacts while on the move. It represents a straightforward approach to enhancing VHF communications for active hams who combine cycling with their radio hobby.

Operating on the 2200m band (135.7-137.8 kHz) often presents challenges for amateur radio transceivers, which typically exhibit poor receiver performance at these very low frequencies. This project addresses the issue by providing a design for a dedicated 137 kHz antenna preamplifier, specifically tailored to improve signal reception for radios such as the _Yaesu FT-817_. The preamplifier circuit utilizes a low-noise FET input stage, crucial for minimizing self-generated noise and maximizing the signal-to-noise ratio from weak LF signals. The design includes a detailed schematic, component values, and construction notes, enabling homebrewers to build a functional unit. The goal is to achieve significant gain, making the faint signals on 2200m more discernible and improving overall band usability. Key design considerations include impedance matching to typical antenna systems and ensuring stable operation across the narrow LF segment. The circuit aims for a **low noise figure** and sufficient amplification to overcome the inherent limitations of general-purpose HF transceivers when operating below **200 kHz**.
