DX-Summit, is one of the very first **DX Clusters** on the internet, operated by the OH9W OH2AQ Radio Club, offering today a full featured web-based DX cluster, with real-time and even historical DX spots across basically the whole spectrum of amateur radio bands. This web application aggregates **DX spots**, enabling hams to monitor DX activity on frequencies from 1.8 MHz through 47 GHz, including specialized categories like beacons, digital modes, IOTA, QRP, and satellite operations. As all DX Clusters, it is as a critical tool for DXers and contesters seeking current propagation conditions and DX stations activity. The web application utility extends to providing daily DX news (even if not up to date) and a spot search function, allowing hams to research previous activity of a specific call signs on several bands. Features integration with direct link to **VOACAP** predictions, QRZ.com and ClubLog. Access to the service during contest events, expecially the most popular ones, may make the sevice overloaded. The inclusion of a full featured tutorial enhances its value. DX Summit's long-standing operation, maintained by **OH8X**, underscores its reliability as a go-to resource for seeking amateur radio spots and identifying rare DX or unidentified signals.

This PDF article from April 2001 QST details the construction of the "NJQRP Squirt," a reduced-size 80-meter inverted-V dipole antenna. The resource provides a general construction sketch, a photograph of the assembled antenna, and specific dimensions for PC-board insulators. The antenna consists of two wire legs, each approximately **34 feet long**, separated by 90 degrees, fed at the center. It is designed for operation on 80 meters (3.5-4.0 MHz) as a quarter-wavelength antenna, requiring a low-loss feedline and an external antenna tuner due to its non-resonant feedpoint impedance. Construction utilizes readily available materials, including 1/16-inch glass-epoxy PC board for end and center insulators, and #20 or #22 insulated hookup wire for the elements. The feedline specified is 300-ohm TV flat ribbon line, with a note on potential trimming for tuner compatibility. N2CX reports the antenna's center should be elevated to at least **20 feet**, with ends no lower than seven feet above ground, resulting in a ground footprint of approximately 50 feet wide. The design prioritizes NVIS propagation for local 80-meter contacts. DXZone Focus: PDF Article | 80m Inverted-V Dipole | Construction Notes | 34 ft element length

Over 200 Telnet DX cluster entries are meticulously cataloged, each providing the cluster's callsign, IP address or hostname, and the specific port for connection. The resource details the geographic location for each cluster, often including grid square information or city/country, which is crucial for operators seeking regional or local spotting networks. For instance, **AB5K** offers both worldwide and USA/Canada-only spot feeds, while **K2LS** explicitly limits spots to USA/Canada/Caribbean Zones 1-8, excluding chat messages. The compilation serves as a practical reference for amateur radio operators who utilize traditional Telnet clients for real-time DX spotting. It presents a raw, unadorned list, prioritizing direct access information over elaborate interfaces. This format allows for quick integration into logging software or terminal programs that support Telnet connections. Distinctively, the resource focuses exclusively on Telnet access, differentiating it from web-based or aggregated cluster services. The sheer volume of listed clusters, spanning continents from Europe and North America to Asia and Oceania, makes it a robust tool for DXers and contesters aiming to monitor propagation and identify rare DX stations across various bands.

The service includes features such as recent activity logs, propagation predictions, and support for multiple languages, making it a versatile tool for DXers and contesters. It also offers detailed information on callsigns, including US states, counties, IOTA, WAZ, and ITU zones. Users can leverage _HamQTH_ for efficient log searching and to monitor current band conditions, aiding in planning DX operations and contest strategies. The platform's XML interface facilitates automated lookups, streamlining the process of identifying stations and gathering essential QTH data. Petr Hlozek, OK2CQR, developed this resource, reflecting practical experience in amateur radio data management.

The _Italian VHF Beacons_ resource provides a detailed listing of active and QRT amateur radio beacons operating across VHF, UHF, and SHF bands within Italy. Each entry specifies the beacon's callsign (e.g., IQ1SP/B), operating frequency (e.g., 144.411 MHz), QTH locator (e.g., JN44VC), effective radiated power (ERP) in watts, and antenna configuration (e.g., Big Wheel, 4x Dipole, Yagi). This data is crucial for radio amateurs involved in propagation studies, equipment testing, and long-distance (DX) communication on these higher frequency bands, offering fixed signal sources for monitoring. This compilation, last updated in October 2005, serves as a historical snapshot of Italian beacon activity. For instance, it lists several 144 MHz beacons with ERPs ranging from **0.1W** to **10W**, and higher frequency beacons such as I8EMG/B on 1296.880 MHz and I3EME/B on 24192.132 MHz. The inclusion of QRT (Quiet Radio Teletype) status for many entries indicates the dynamic nature of beacon operations over time. Users can utilize this information to identify potential signal sources for band openings or to calibrate their receiving equipment against known transmissions.

Live DX spots are presented through a _web cluster_ interface, utilizing both a world map and a Google Maps display for visualizing amateur radio propagation. The system provides real-time spotting data, enabling operators to track active stations globally. Users can observe current band conditions and station activity, which is crucial for optimizing contact strategies across various amateur bands. The platform's utility extends to contest operations and general DXing, offering a visual representation of where stations are being heard. While the primary function is DX spotting, the site also includes technical articles, such as instructions for interlocking two Flex Radios for single-transmitter compliance in contests, and a guide for constructing a simple **5KW** 1:1 balun for **160m/80m** dipoles using RG400 cable. This combination of live data and practical technical content supports both operational awareness and station improvement.

Operating an 80/40/20M fan dipole for DX is analyzed through EZNEC modeling, focusing on the antenna's performance in a real-world, low-height installation. The resource details the physical construction and SWR measurements of the fan dipole, comparing them against EZNEC simulations. It also incorporates High Frequency Terrain Analysis (HFTA) data to illustrate typical DX elevation angles for various regions from New England, providing a crucial context for evaluating antenna patterns. The analysis presents EZNEC-generated azimuth and elevation patterns for each band (80M, 40M, 20M) at specific frequencies, showing gain figures at different elevation angles relevant to DX propagation. It compares the modeled SWR with measured SWR, attributing discrepancies to coax attenuation. The study concludes with observations on the antenna's azimuth performance (omnidirectional within ±1.5 dB) and its less optimal elevation gain at desired DX angles, highlighting the impact of low antenna height on DX capabilities.

The 3Y0K Log Online provides a detailed logsearch interface for the **3Y0K** DXpedition to Bouvet Island, scheduled for February 2026. This web-based tool, hosted on _Club Log_, allows users to access real-time QSO statistics and leaderboards. The interface includes interactive features such as a map for checking real-time propagation and colored boxes that reveal mode and time breakdowns when hovered over. The service supports HF bands and provides a structured overview of QSOs, including band/mode breakdowns and continent-specific data. Users can report logging inquiries and QSL requests exclusively through the M0OXO Online QSL Request System (**OQRS**). The site also offers additional resources like band plans, operating practices, and FT8 advice. The leaderboard feature, which includes clubs and Contest Club, ranks stations based on the number of band slots worked, with duplicate QSOs being discouraged. The expedition's impact on users' totals is also tracked, providing insights into new bands, modes, and DXCC entities worked. DXZone Focus: 3Y0K DXpedition | Club Log | Bouvet Island
